    Stay in the Friedrichshain area.

Hotel Agon is ok. Middle of the road.

Go up in the hot air balloon that's tied to the ground. it's walking distance from checkpoint charlie.

go up the tv tower. you can't miss it. great views from both.

Clubs: Sage, Cafe Moscow, and if you're really hardcore, Berghain.

The canal barge trip is worth it. not quite exhilerating but just think of it as a good and quick way to see alot of the city (new parliament etc.)

also, if you're going now, there's an artificial beach somewhere that i didn't get to see but i've heard it's amazing.

that's all i can think of.

    K.

PS I reckon you'll like berlin. my favourite city in europe without a doubt.

I think the Agon is great value for money. We booked a triple room and got an appartment style room, with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen. Great value.
It you are into Museums then the Pergamon is one of Europe's finest. Its located on "Museum Island", with lots of interesting things to see. The Reichstag (parliament) building is worth a look, as is the whole Brandenburg Gate area.
If its shopping you want, then walk along the Kurfürstendamm.
Its a great city. You won't be short of things to do/see.

There's a deadly museum beside Checkpoint Charlie.

Missed it when I was there. :o

Yeah if you are into history at all you should definitely go to this! I was in Berlin a few years ago and I spent hours in the museum ... in fact I spent so long there that my friend who I was interrailing with at the time got to the end before me, and after waiting for me for a while she was convinced I must have already left, and went back to the hostel without me :p
You should also visit the wall itself, the part that is left has some great grafitti on it.
Berlin is a great city anyway, I only spent 3 days there as one stage of an interrailing trip but I'd love to go back sometime. Enjoy your trip!

I cannot wait to go now. Sounds like there is plenty to do. Now I am off to book my accomodation. Thanks again.

Check out the Erotic Museum. It’s a genuine museum on the history of pornography, from ancient times to the present day. (Was there in 2003)

On the gloomy side, there are a certain amount of Holocaust sites to visit including the Wannsee House where the decision to go ahead with the whole thing was finalized.
