So what did ye make of the new movie. I saw it last night and I thought it was very good. The whole way through there is a tension that bad things are about to happen. It is certainly much darker than the previous ones (thats nearly a cliché at this stage). The acting was pretty good aswell. Deloras Umbridge is a brilliant character, what a bítch! I thought the last battle scene in the movie was very good aswell

Thought it dragged quite a bit, but it was allright.

    And Daniel Radcliffe can't act!

    That's one hell of a counter-argument.

Considering the size of the book they did a good job with this movie. Yer woman Luna could have done with a bit more screen time. Couple of funny bits from Ron (about Harry's kiss). Umbridge was played very well, just how I imagined the bitch.
As you expect the CGI effects were good, liked Hagrid's brother (can't remember his name) and the crystal ball room was cool.

But my absolute fave was Kreacher, he definitely deserved more screen time.

I did fell a bit disappointed by it but I supppose they did a good enough job just fitting it into one movie. The fight scene was good but after that... there wasn't muchthat did it for me.

Did anyone else think Hagrid's brother was the face off the guy from Mad Magazine?

I give you Mad Magazine's Alfred vs Harry Potter's Grawp.

Aside from that, thought the film was enjoyable enough although the ending was a bit of a damp squib. I'm not too sure how much sense it'll make to someone who hasn't read the books though...

Never said I could... but if I was getting paid millions for the role of a character I'm playing for the fifth time, I think I'd have gotten to grips with playing the character by now, yeah.

But it's just my humblest of opinions - I just think he's a bad actor.

I liked it,thought it was quite boring at times and found myself leaning over to my girlfriend quite a bit to say "that's not how it happened in the book".But in fairness the book wasnt the easiest of page to screen adaptations.
i do have to agree on the Radcliffe issue, the boy cant act, also he looks about 4ft tall and his idea of smiling is lifting his lips up to show his teeth....very disturbing.

Did you see him in Extras? It was a hilarious role but all the time you just felt ah he can't act!

I also find it wierd that my 20 year old friend fancies him... he's only 18!

I LOVED the movie though. I wish it wasn't at the same time as the book though-I gotta spread the excitement. Julys a great month!!

And Fiona Shaw was looking amazing for her age! She looked like she was ready for a bit of something something with Uncle Vernon when the 2 popped in

Do you think they'll ever make a Pride and Pred/Lord of the Rings marathon "we're not leaving anything out" when they're all out?

I actually thought Daniel wasnt bad in this movie. He (and the rest of them) were terrible in some of the earlier movies but I thought the lot of them put in a fairly decent performance this time round.

I felt cheated without the statue battle at the end, but the super powerful magic was cool enough. The shelves falling down was the best bit.

I thought it was awful. There was way too much ground to be covered and I feel they dropped the ball.
I felt the same about the last one too but I really liked the first three. Perhaps this is a problem that will get worse with the next two films as those books get even longer still.
