Something I took in passing through the streets of Utrecht.

Really interesting. Nice colours and very unusual composition. Catchy picture.

I like it, almost looks "pop art"-esque the eay its composed. A fun picture to look at.

Can't explain why but ... I like it ... the only criticism I would have is it looks a tad on the flat side ... I'd lift the contrast and saturation a little ... but that is merely a personal preference ... and could just be my screen ...

One other thing you might try as an alternative approach is Fenster's bleach bypass technique ...

I tried boosting the contrast a little more, deepen the shadows or something, but I don't want it to look over-worked, and I'm not too fond of bleach bypass really.

I'm not sure how to achieve what I'm looking for.

I really think it needs something to bring it out.

like the composition dadkopf but the specular reflection kills it, did you take one without flash?

    Feel free, Mike.

As for the flash, I did kinda deliberately use it. I like the way it flattens everything and makes things seem unnatural. Maybe the reflection on the tile is annoying, but if its worth eliminating, I'm sure some wiley Photoshopping could do the trick.

Fajitas: I don't know really, nothing fancy. Simply to bring out the grey overcast day that was in it, but to boost the contrast, maybe, to bring out the contrast in textures (the brick versus tile and burnt out white vertical between the wall and curtain). Overall, I really like the composition, and the unusualness of it, I guess. Any ideas?
