ok so long story short, myself and the girlfriend booked a holiday in august with another couple. we paid off our part of the deal asap, but the other couple hasn't. turns out they're fighting yada yada, so i'm wondering if it's possible that we can split the holiday up so if they don't pay we don't loose over €1000 and get to go on our holiday alone?

we booked with a "cheap" travel agent (your first guess as to which company is probably right ;)) and i can't get through to 'em right now, hence thread on interweb forum. note that the other couple have to pay off by friday or we loose our moneys....

To be honest if you are both on the same booking you will be rightly screwed.
Although it depends on the length of time prior to travel (deposits / cancellation policies etc).
I would have a chat to the other couple and explain it to them and see if you can get maybe another couple to take over the booking (probably get charged for a name change).

You'll need to check the Ts & Cs of the booking.

When you booked your holiday you would have signed on a form that you have read and agreed with them, and the tour operator will hang you by them.

I would suggest having a read through, seeing if you can get someone to take up the booking, and seeing if you can get the other couple to stump up their end of the booking.

It's always a worry booking a holiday with another couple, hope it works out for you.
