For anyone interested Cage Rage 22 is live on Sky Sports2 from 9 till 11p.m. tonight.

13 fight card and I only recognise 9 of the fighters names! (One is Herb Dean- the ref!) so I'm not really too sure what to expect. Anyway enjoy

Apparently the undercard was good but what they showed on Sky was pretty poor.

Sperry dominated and won fast but that was the only technically decent fight on the card IMO.

Found Butterbean fighting much more entertaining the time I was actually at cage rage (and was very mildly* drunk)!! :)

    *mildly = very

Do people on this forum generally watch a wide spectrum of MMA events or just ufc and pride when it was on?

I have to admit I've mostly only seen UFC and Pride and the odd cage rage/ bodog /other event when there is a big name former ufc or pride fighter on the card.

Are those IFL team things worth watching and what other shows should a genuine mma fan be also taking the time to see (other than UFR and ROT of course)?

a genuine fan should watch any mma fight regardless of the organisation as there mma fans not ufc fans etc.. i hate organisation lovers as they are anti all the other mma organisations and this does not make sense to me! a good fight is a good fight and i say this for any form of fighting-mma-boxing-muay thai or whatever else...if ufc is the best, watch it the most by all means-i mainly watch the liverpool in the english premier league but still watch celtic in the spl...

The highlights during the end credits looked better than the actual show. How come the other fights weren't shown? Fairly forgettable all bar one fight

I'm actually starting to feel sorry for Butterbean at this stage- looks like all his fights are going to end the same way (unless of course he lands his big punch) with him taking a lot of punishment from jabs and leg kicks standing and then GnP to finish.

Personally I'm a big UFC fan due to TV (TUF etc), but have recently got TWC channel now and am watching a lot of Cage Rage, KotC etc and from what I've seen so far UFC "is at the top of the food chain;) "

so in your extensive mma experience cowserp what do you recommend other than the ufc?

I haven't seen much IFL but I heard that the Chris Horodecki vs Shad Lierley fight from earlier this month is a fight of the year contender. I haven't been able to watch the full thing yet though. IFL can throw up some great fights as well as some bad ones. UFC has its fair share of bad fights too, I think most fans don't care so much because they feel more of a connection to the UFC guys from seeing them so much. Since they care about the fighters, they don't mind too much when a fight is crap. A lot of people would be more critical of fights from other organisations because they don't know the fighters

I say watch whatever MMA you want. I'm not too sure about the team concept of IFL, seems a bit nonsensical in a way, but that's no reason not to watch it

I watched a bit of Cage Rage last night, wasn't brilliant from what I saw. I found out that the live streaming unfortunately doesn't work on Macs when I went to watch it at first, the undercard sounds better than the tv portion

The K1 MMA organisation HERO'S may dominate MMA in a few years due to the financial muscle behind it. It looks crap now but it should get better.
