Apologies if this has been covered or seems obvious to you.

What do you do when someone makes a habit of guessing other peoples hands out loud....especially when they are not even in the pot?

Local game, 3 table tourney - most people are friends/friendly. One player is always trying his best to annoy people (or thats just his personality) and he even turned up one week with a black eye. Hes a very good guesser and i respect his play but dont fear him. He annoys nearly everyone and i dont let it bother me usually - but this new thing... i cant see why he isnt DQ'd.

To me its nearly cheating to even speak about any card in the deck when the game is being played - if he guesses any card then its obvious that he is saying he didnt have the card in his own folded hand.

He shouldn't talk about a hand when he's not in it, even if he is in and there are a few players involved in the pot. Its against the rules, plain and simple.

very much out of order, every dealer should nip this in the bud, but many don't (the good ones do, you know who you are :)).

It would be best to speak to the tournament director, and hopefully he will speak to the player on the quiet, and hopefully it will put an end to it, but he may just persist, cause he 'doesn't see the harm'.

    It's a fustrating situation.

You simply have to explain to him why he can't discuss a hand in progress and tell him not to do it again. It happens online as well, earlier on a guy says he folded a four in the chat box on a 10,4,4,x,x, board, which helped me find a call with q10 against an opponent who was bluffing. I'm fairly sure i would have folded if the guy hadnt told me one of the fours was already out of the deck.

Completely unacceptible and he should be shut up or turfed out. Jesus, thats unreal. He'd get a smack in the gob from a few people I could name if he did it in the middle of a hand. Out of order, plain and simple, and highly ignorant of him too.

    DeV.

The week he walked in with the black eye - one of the fellas declares, "Someone was talking when they should have been listening!" - we fell about the place.

Frustrating is right - he was sitting NEXT to the tournament director last night.

I pushed in all my chips after a flop of 2,7,6 (the 2 and 7 both spades). He declares (with 4 people still to decide) that I have KQ spades. The bastard was right - everyone bar one folded. He proceeded to look at the guys cars that hadnt folded and GIVE HIM ADVICE. FFS.

It worked out OK for me cause everyone hates smarty pants so much they didnt think he was correct! The last guy folded with A8 suited clubs...

The best thing you can do is to stop playing this game. The tournament director either doesn't have a clue or doesn't care.
