I was going into town to buy it, but it never stopped raining all day. Maybe it's a sign i shouldn't buy it. I read the reviews today and i don't think i'm missing out on anything.

I seen it in gamestop for €45 or €50

    I'm sick of mini-games

It has been recalled. offensive word in the game. I think it is "retard" but not sure.

Are you sure that wasn't the Brain Training rip off that called 'non-performers' spastic?

I think i'll be skipping this as well... i'm waiting for a substantial game.

    That was a different game.

I bought this and Resi 4 earlier but only managed 10-15 minutes of each due to social commitments. If you have a look at www.nintendoeurope.com you'll see it was only recalled in the UK due to “an assembly issue”.

its not a different game. I am well aware of the stupid brain game that was recalled. The american version of the game has the word spastic in it and some of our copies were the american version.

My mate works in Game and they had to remove all of them from the shelves. The word is used when you are instructed to shake the Wiimote "like a spastic" for one of the mini games. I cant help but find it funny

    yup heres what i found
"[Mario Party 8] was launched in the UK today. Unfortunately we have discovered that a small number of games contain the wrong version of the disk due to an assembly error. We have therefore decided to recall all copies of the game from UK retailers so that this mistake can be corrected," reads the official Nintendo website.

By "wrong version" Nintendo means the version that contains the word 'spastic' in its script. At one point in the game the blue wizard known as Kamek says: "Magikoopa magic! Turn the train spastic! Make this ticket tragic!" God knows what he's trying to say, but it was supposed to be removed from the game before its launch.

Yeh, it used to happen alot with car names. I remember reading about it in my Business book in secondry school. Here is a few examples of bad translations i found on a Translation Companies site

"We take your bags and send them in all directions."
    -sign at a Scandinavian airport

"Ladies may have a fit upstairs."
-sign at a dry cleaning store in Bangkok

"Please leave your values at the front desk."
-sign in a hotel in Paris.

    "Here speeching American."
    -sign in a Moroccan shop.

    "No smoothen the lion."
-sign in a zoo in the Czech Republic.

"The lift is being fixed. During that time we regret that you will be unbearable."
    -sign in Bucharest hotel lobby

    "Teeth extracted by latest methodists."
-sign in Hong Kong dentist's office.

    "STOP! Drive Sideways."
    -detour sign in Japan.

"Ladies, leave your clothes here and spend the afternoon having a good time."
    -sign in a Rome laundry.

"If you consider our help impolite, you should see the manager."
    -sign in an Athens hotel.

"Our wines leave you nothing to hope for."
-on the menu of a Swiss restaurant

"It is forbidden to enter a woman even a foreigner if dressed as a man."
    -in a Bangkok temple

"Fur coats made for ladies from their own skin."
    -window of a Swedish furrier

"Specialist in women and other diseases."
    -doctor's office in Rome

    -car rental brochure in Tokyo.

Bought this the other day. Seems ok but it is basically loads of mini games stitched together. If your looking for something a bit more involved look elsewhere but if your looking for something for beginers or kids its ideal....

Thats the idea, its a party game. Intended for play only when you have the friends around, and are preferably rather drunk (may help reduce arguments).
