Animal Crossing: Wild World question.

I've been playing AC: Wild World for almost a year now, and last night while I was playing it my character kept falling over whilst she was running. I have never noticed this before, do the characters always fall over while their running? Or is it something to do with the game?:confused:

There is this Gold Mask that makes you fall over every 100 steps or so...

Or you could be cursed......
