Hey, living by the lough in cork (just outside the city) and we receive telly through an aerial... Until yesterday we were able to receive RTE1, RTE2, TV3, TG4 and Channel6... This morning when i flicked on the telly, RTE1, TV3 & TG4 were working grand but i got the following message on RTE2 & Channel 6:
A Problem in the signal reception does not allow your decoder to work properly
please check the connvecting of your decoder

In case of problem please contact your retailer 1890 918 888

It looks like the Chorus EPG, the clock on it is frozen on the time i tuned the channel in...

What the hell is it? We don't have chorus or anything, so how could this be popping up?

Where were you getting Channel 6 from? That's only available on cable/MMDS and satellite - isn't it?!

    Maybe somebody was rebroadcasting it?

Heh, sounds like someone's rebroadcasting Channel 6 down in Cork. Hardly worth the effort though. :D

Can channel 6 be recieved with an ordinary ariel? I'm in cork too. I got rid of my roof ariel a few years ago when I went with sky.

If you checked you probably have a Chorus cable entering the house (from a previous lapsed subscription) and this is feeding your TV, and the Irish channels are the only channels receiveable without a decoder.

Channel 6 is not available on an ordinary aerial

maybe the O/P means an MMDS aerial

Or possibly the local deflector is now carrying Channel 6 -I know some of them carry TV3. Perhaps in lieu of BBC1/2/ITV since these are now available FTA on satellite
