My mate booked tickets via the Ryanair website and says he got a message saying an email would be sent with some type of code or what have you, that we present it at the airport to get our tickets. The code hasnt been emailed (been a few days now), and their customer service line was sod all use, a recording that gave him a different number to call, from where he was shunted to another number, in short despite 3 calls to different no.s he has yet to a speak to a human. Anyone have a direct line for them, or a trick to avoid the switchboard sh1te.

Tell him to check his junk mail folder first. Chances are it ended up there.

You can generally just give your name when you check-in, however I'd want to verify alright that the booking did in fact go through.

you should be on the list when you turn up for the flight (assuming it has been booked correctly). The booking ref usually doesn't matter.

    +1. That's what often happens

I have sometimes had their emails not appear, but I just write the code down on a postit and stick it in my passport and that is all you then need.

I book about 40 return flights a year and sometimes the confirmation codes don't arrive until 3/4 days after I book them.

Also when you book online there'll be a confirmation page with the number on it. Not much use now though.

You can just use your passport on one of the machines there, instead of checking in at a desk.

    For Ryanair?

Thought Ryanair had a load of those put in? Or was it just Aer Lingus? Thought it was both of them.

You can pay a few extra Euros and book in online from a couple of days before hand with Ryanair if you only have carry on bags, then you just have to take another printout along with you and go straight through to the gate when you get to the airport. I've not noticed anyother way of avioding the checkin desks with Ryanair yet though, but they will charge you for making their job easier for them when they do get round to it.

Ryanair don't have self check-in machines.

Ryanair normally send a Travel Advisory e-mail a few days before your flight

check your online banking and the ryanair ref is at the end of the visa ref for that transaction

Last time I travelled with Ryanair their confirmation email didn't arrive until about 3 days before my flight but this was about a month after I booked the ticket so be patient and it will come! Anyway, you don't need the email confirmation at check-in. They'll just ask for your passport so dont worry!

How do they treat hyphenated Surnames? Mine is hyphenated but the passport office won't give you the hyphen and they simply put it down as 2 names separted by a space.

The question is if you use the hyphen with ryanair would they have grounds to reject you for boarding?

I've had this on numerous occasions but mostly my name has always been down, one time in particular i was flying to Gatwick and i went up and told the bird who was checking in i never got the e-mail assuming my name would just be down as normal, but to my horror it wasn't:eek: now i know for a fact my credit card was charged as i check the balance regularly and the money was definitely taken, so i almost blow a fuse, tell them my credit card company will verify that the money was taken and it's not my fault if there booking system has fuc*ed up, after a heated exchange with their "customer service" and many phone calls back and forth it transpired that my booking was in fact made, but due to some "glitch" in their system,my name was not on the booking sheet they have, luckily i went to check in plenty of time or id have missed my flight.

Just another long line of nightmares id have with the worlds worst airline, but anyway yeah i would always ensure you have the printout to be opn the safe side.

Generally an airline wont stop you boarding if your name is hyphenated on the ticket and not on you passport.

But I would suggest if you do book flights online ALWAYS enter your name as it is on you passport then you don't to worry when checking in coz even if the hyphen isnt an issue it depends what side of the bed the check-in staff get out of.

I entered it as it appears on the passport and the ryanair email confirmation omits my first name and has only the surname listed as 2 separate names. Luckily the web confirmation has the full name as it appears on the passport. I really wish the passport office would understand what a hyphen is.
