    Vitor Belfort wants Liddell..!
The Brazilian athlete from Black House Team is preparing to fight James Zicik for the LHW title at Cage Rage 23, on Sept 22nd.

Regarding Liddell vs. Wanderley fight that probably isn’t happening anymore, Belfort says; “So, who’s that Mohican Guy (Liddell) is going to fight now..?! what the heck they don’t put me in there..?! I truly believe that right now, I can knock him out… I fought against him before and I blew it, but those were different times. I have a contract with Cage Rage right now, and it would depend on how flexible they would be regarding me fighting elsewhere.” – Says Belfort.

Belfort would be a bad match up for chuck with his superior boxing and better bjj game-i think chuck is in trouble as no matter who he faces it looks like they will be better strikers such as Antonio Rogerio Nogueira-maybe chuck will have to try the ground game and in all honestly he loses to both these fighters there also

What happened to the Wanderlei fight?

There aren't that many fights out there for Chuck, if the Silva fight is off they'll hand pick someone for him to beat so he can get a shot at the title, hes a huge draw so Dana will want another big PPV title shot for him.

you might be right but he's not the future so i think they need a new marquee fighter who will be around for a few years..chuck is on his way ouy imo-he is 1 of my favourites but age is his barrier, he's no randy after all..

Could post this in the MMA discussion thread.
The Wanderlei fight is off as posted in the above thread. Wandy declined it.

Vitor did very well against Chuck considering he took it on 3-4 weeks notice.

I read a comment on sherdog that hit home with me actually…..it was something like "Vitor has ripped my heart out so many times with his would have, could have, should have career."

I haven't seen anything about Vitor that shows him filling out the promise of his early fights. I don’t think he would worry Chuck too much…he may have the skills but I think he lost the tenacity somewhere and never got it back.

Actually in cage rage he seems to have found his fire again, that is always his issue rather than his ability-i'd love to see him reach his potential..

He lost a good fight to Hendo in PRIDE last year. Decision but he did good. But then he failed the piss test!! He has looked very good in Cage Rage since, wonder if he could raise his game again....

i've seen vitor fighting in cage rage only the once. he did very well but i don't think he was all that pushed. he was a lot more interested in smiling for the cameras.

so he looks great again? i would dissagree but lets look at the competition - in the last 2 years he has that dredfull showing against overeem, the quick win against takahashi, his loss ho hendo (and not as impressive imo that how neil1984 sees it) and two wins in cage rage: rea and serati - (top level fighters? not a chance!) i dont see whats to be impressed with there tbh

I think we'll probably see him back in the UFC as soon as his drug suspension in the States is lifted.

He's fighting for BlackHouse now and they seem to be very well in with the UFC lately, A. Silva, Machida, Nogueira. He was also interviewed in the build up to Silva's last fight and the UFC don't usually like to give airtime to anyone who isn't fighting for them, Rogan also mentioned his fight against Tito during Ortiz-Evans.

If his head is right and he's hungry for success I think he can do well with such a good team, but I think he does need to rack up some wins against tougher opponents before he jumps back in with the top-tier guys like Chuck.

Silva says he still wants to fight Liddell though. He says he was offered a contract that had two options, a fight in September or one in November, and he chose November as he's moving to the US soon and doesn't feel ready for a fight so soon. He says he still wants to fight Chuck, it's all in a video on his website according to http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=4324&zoneid=13

UFCJunkie.com is reporting that it'll be Chuck vs Keith Jardine for UFC 76 though. I'd still like to see the Silva fight the most
