Getting group investment

    Hi,
I'm considering getting a group of investors to help out with funding for a new venture.

They wouldnt be a professional firm, just a group of individuals who may or may not be interested in putting a small amount each into it.

What would be the best way of going about this? Say for example I have 5 people interested in putting in a small amount each, and everyone is happy with %'s etc. Whats the next step?

    Thanks

    It depends really.

    You're looking at

    1. shareholders agreement (covers the rights of shareholders, in particular how they can be bought out and what their rights are if new shareholders are wheeled in later.)

    2. issue of shares

    3. you may need to revise the memorandum and articles appropriately

It's all a bit of a palaver and you will need the help of your accountant at least and possibly your solicitor as well.
