Really really great deal. It must have cost me well over a 100 euro to get the first two seasons a few years ago. I still haven't gotten the 3rd series and it was my favourite season of the show. TheHut have it also for 38.97 which is pretty descent though. Too bad I'm broke.

Anyway Farscape was probably one the greatest sci-fi shows of the last decade, everything about it, the production values, writing, directing was top notch. It's hard to really compare it to anything, it was unique. The first season was good but nothing compared to the brilliance it reached by the 3rd season.

But sadly it proved too expensive for the Sci-Fi channel in the end and they cancelled it.

I'd compare it to B5. Both have decent story arcs and sub plots and interesting new species, neither rely heavily on stuff that is more magic than science.

And neither have reboots or the cop-out of fixing the problem with technobabble "reverse the polarity of the neutron beams" when it's obvious the writer can't figure out how to tidy up the episode in the next five minutes.
