    /serious hat

No, one thing like hair touching on it's own is not a clear signal of interest and can easily be faked by someone aware of body language. What you need to look for are cluster signals which are combinations of different signs which are much harder to fake.

Better still are automatic body responses which are almost impossible to fake but just as hard to detect, such as pupil dilation, breathing and heart rate and skin flushing.

    /serious hat

Slip her the hand and see if you get a slap, simply and concise body language.

I'm always touching my hair because it's always getting in the way, so not really.

Jokes aside, if you want serious answers then AH is probably the last place to post your question.

    Personal issues maybe.....

Yeah but this is unneccesarily touching hair. It's not because it's in the way.

    I like touching myself too

Probably doesn't mean anything, she's probably playing with it without realising it, my hair's curly and I'm always twisting it round my finger without realising.

I agree with The Gnome. "Cluster Signals" are the way to know if this young lady is eager to receive your attentions.

If she is toying with her hair, has nips on her like chapel hat pegs & is frothing at the gash - chances are you're in.

If she's just toying with her hair then I'd imagine that it is just something she does when in the company of someone who bores the bejaysus out of her. :D

She's just greasing it up so it seems more plausible when she says she can't see you tonight as she has to wash her hair.:D

Touching the hair on it's own is an indication of intrest though by no means definitive. I recommend the book understanding body language by Allan and Barbara Pease. I work in a people orientated job and this book has saved my neck on dozens of occasions, because I could read peoples moods as they changed and could adapt my strategy acordingly.

It also got me laid. Twice. So, in terms of getting sex industry workers in to do the same job, even skanky ones, the book paid for itself many times over.

Usually Its a self comfort thing, she may be doing it without even realizing it.
Everybody does something similar. For instance i touch my face a bit or scratch my head even though its not itchy when i'm talking to people.

It doesn't directly mean she is into you but if it is part of a group of other signals could well mean she is.

If she does it while maintaining a good amount of eye contact and interest in the conversation then i would say it is a positive sign.

If she's looking around the room while doing it, she's probably bored and or not interested.

If she's looking at the floor/her feet/your shoulders/table..etc while making brief glances towards your face - It could possibly be lack of confidence.

To be honest, you'll get a better read on her from eye movements, the way she is oriented towards you and her facial expressions.

How close she stands to you (unless odour or noise levels are factors in the how close) and how much physical contact she initiates would also be good indicators.

Actually how close a person stands to you is defined on the culture and where they live. City folk people are more liable to stand closer to you, while country people will stand further away.

Loads of stuff out there on NLP. I recommend reading.

This is true but by comparing to the others around you you'll still get a fair idea, if she stands much closer than the rest it's a pretty good sign since being social creatures our minds are geared to check that we don't behave strangely by what appears to be commonly acceptable (i.e. if the rest stand back from you odds are so will she, if they huddle in close, then again so will she).
Also country Vs. city has less of an impact than actual national culture in this regard.

If she's playing with her hair it means she wants you to kiss her.
