Police in Iran are reported to have taken 14 squirrels into custody - because they are suspected of spying.
The rodents were found near the Iranian border allegedly equipped with eavesdropping devices.

I mean what the hell, Squirrels?? Whatever happened to good old fashioned billion dollar spy planes and satellites?

it's well known that squirrels are more intelligent than dolphins and they have been used to lay anti-shipping mines so this is no surprise

Wasn't there a situation a few months back with the British and the Russians? The russians accused the british of spying on them and if I remember it was with an everyday object or some sort of animal.

Surely you've all heard of the IRA (Irish Rodent Army). The highly secretive and militant IRA is known to have many stores and bunkers all over the country. It is widely believed that as well as food that these locations also contain consignments of weapons. These are believed to include a large cache of Kalashnutovs and KP-47s. In the Middle East there is also the SLO (Squirrel Liberation Orgnisation). Should the SLO get their paws on the IRA arms, this could lead to a further escalation of the Middle Eastern crisis, which has recently re-surfaced.

In other developments in the above story, the Iranians have declared a 'No Scamper Zone' in the area in an attempt to contain the movements of the squirrels. The UN (United Nutions) has announced its intentions to send observers to the area as the conflict intensifies. The SLO and their supporters have denounced reports that the Iranians intend to use chemical weapons against the squirrels and said that this is a breach of recognised international standards. This however has been disputed by a number of experts in the field who stated that Iranians are well within their rights to use such weapons. The SLO have strongly condemned this view and has called for UN inspectors to check Iran for traces of these weapons. There has however been no response from the UN or Iran.

In another sinister development and proof of their growing international influence, it has been reported that the SLO have had contacts with the FARC (Fascist Army Rodents of Colombia). While FARC are not regarded as being as militant or dangerous as some of the Middle-Eastern rodent fanutics, the contact between them and the SLO has caused alarm among security sources.

In a potentially sinister development a statement purporting to be from PIRA (Pigeons International Reactionary Army) was also released. It read:

"Beware. Keep your eyes to the sky as it is not just your oil prices that will be falling from lofty heights!"

The statement has not been autheticated. However if it turns out to be genuine it could be a very serious development. PIRA have long been active in their so-called "Dirty War." Should the full might of their forces be brought to bear on Iran it could be quite a nasty situation. Security sources have warned Iranians to take extra care and to wear a hat and even carry an umbrella at all times.

We will update you with any further developments. :)

The CIA had radio control cats. Wired electrodes up to make them feel hungry.

I hope the Irish Rodent Army, and their arch enemies the UVF (Ulster Vermin Force) don't get embroiled in another sewer conflict, or things could get pretty nasty. We may well need the CIA radio control cats to keep things from getting out of control.

No, they were used to detect mines not lay them. They were also trained to attach devies to mines and boats to blow them up.
