Warning: Anyone posting in this thread, please use spoiler tags ie [spo iler] [/spo iler] (remove the space). Yes, even for the Sixth Sense.

Anyway, we have all been there. You know, the loud mouth friend who just has to tell you the twist ending to the latest M Night Shyamalan film before you have a chance to see it. Here is a place to share those film moments that have been ruined for you by inadvertantly finding out something you weren't meant to. Some personal examples:

Serenity. I only got into Firefly when Serenity was in the cinema and never got to see said film on the big screen. So I was really excited when I picked up a DVD copy. I opened the packaging on the bus home and saw some art cards. "Cool! Art cards!" I probably didn't exclaim, but you get the point. Anyway, had a quick flick through them and there was
    Wash getting impaled.
    . Lousy art cards.

I also found out the ending to the Usual Suspects before viewing. Experience was understandably dimmed as a result.

When I went to see the Naked Gun 33 1/3 there was a gag spoofing "The Crying Game". It didn't mean anything to me as I hadn't seen the movie, but my mate felt compelled to explain it to me thus ruining one of the most famous twists of the decade. Thanks!

Scrolling through a discussion on boards about The Prestige shortly after it came out to find some gimp giving away the ending.

Reading Empire Magazine's 'Top 10 Movie Twists' article only to have them spoil 'The Sixth Sense' on me.

It was only out about a fortnight at the time.... majorly pissed off!

Oh and also 'Serenity', a discussion on a forum on somesite or other clearly posted about
the death of Book and Wash
    .

The new Transformers film was spoiled for me as one uncaring member had in his signature which characters had died AND HOW THEY died. What an ass.

I once saw an ad on TV for the movie Se7en and they
named Kevin Spacey as a member of the cast! Morons! His name does not appear in the opening credits so you never know who the bad guy is!
Seen the same thing in a TV guide one time too!

A total ****ing wankstain posting on a website about online games, which characters of the Firefly cast died in the Serenity movie :(

May he, his family, his friends and any one who's ever been pleasent to him be raped by daemons made out of sandpaper for all eternity.

The Sixth Sense for me. A friend of mine just saw it and remarked how amazing the ending was. I guessed the ending and he denied I had guessed right but his face told me I had cracked it. It wasnt the same film for me.

Off the top of my head it would be the Village, haven't seen it noe do I know if it is any good. But up intill then I really loved yer man's films. Sixth Sense, Signs and what not.
Then someone spoiled the end of the film for me and now I just don't see the point of seeing it.

    Prison Break, season two.

Just the other day I was reading through some forum and read that, towards the end of the season
    Kellerman shoots Mahone
. I've yet to get that far in the season though.

Was really pissed off about that!!

    What lies beneath.

The trailer for the movie gave away the twist in the movie itself. So when it comes to the big twist in the movie you're just left thinking ".....well yeah....you already told us that"

Was a bit of a mess of a movie though - like the two halves were written sperately.

That uber gay chap on Will and Grace ruined The Usual Suspects for me, ok its an old movie, but thats just shit

I can't think of any big film twist I've ever had spoiled for me by someone else. I've often read things in advance and spoiled MYSELF but that's my fault. So tbh unless your standing in line for a film and some jerk starts shouting x is y's father, etc, it's usually your own fault for not avoiding info about the film. I see this all the time on the tv forums, people click on the topic discussing a new episode and then start moaning because there wasn't spoiler tags or a spoiler warning.

That was CoolSmileyGirl, and the worst part was, the thread wasn't even about the film. It was in AH. I clicked on it and the first line was something along the lines of "You know the way at the end of The Prestige..." And the rest of the thread was filled with people hurling abuse at her for ruining the film!:mad::mad:

That would be nasty, I had the glorious pleasure of seeing it in a huge cinema without having seen any trailers. I liked the look of the cast :D

At one of my mate's free gaff we were all having a good laugh until one of them on the buzz started yapping about The Departed. Before I could even change the conversation he blurted out the ending ruining it for me, nnnnnaaaarrrgghh!!! Still loved the movie but the impact of the ending didn't get me.

Matrix Revolutions was ruined for me but, in fairness, that was a shít movie.

6th Sense I jokingly talked about what the ending was but my sister who'd seen it didn't deny what I said, hmph!!

I used to warn people that if they ever told me anything important about a movie I'd wish to see then I'd tell them what would happen in Lost or Prison Break. I used to download them the night after they aired in America so that gave me powers for a few months.

One of the biggest spoilers was for the film "The Island" by Michael Bay and the spoiler came from the trailer itself. It told you what was actually the "island" actually was, therefore giving away almost all the tention in the movie. Nowadays, most trailers for films actually ruin the film for me so I try to avoid them.
Another terrible place for spoiling movies is MTV. Whenever a big blockbuster comes out they have a big behind the scenes show about it, thus ruining most of the film (I remember they had this for the 3rd matrix film 2 weeks before it came out)

Actually - someone nearly ruined it for me when they said
it's so obvious that he's dead
. However, because I can't spot the even most obvious twists, I thought that
the kid was dead, not Bruce Willis, so it wasn't actually ruined for me. Though I did feel very stupid
    .

Huh? I haven't seen it for a while, but I don't think that would ruin the film at all?

With regards to the above Se7en spoiler...
As far as I know Spacey isnt mentioned at the beginning at all. His name does get opening slot at the beginning of the end credits though as a kind of 'YES! Kevin Spacey is the bad guy!' kind of way.

I must look into this though...i could be wrong...

I remember someone on tv talking about the Usual Suspect saying that
they were walking throught the London Underground and saw a poster for the film (the one where the main characters are in the police lineup) and there was a big black arrow above Kevin Spacey's head :D

The Sixth Sense. I'm sure i'm not the only one have this happen
My mother saw it on the plane and about a week later i rented it and five minutes in she said "sure he's dead already"

Yep.... I got hit by that too.

I got some revenge though as I'm able to edit the image in her sig and I changed it to read "Cool Spoiler Girl" for a few days.

LOL sorry I had to laugh, I can just imagine how pissed off you were! It's so funny how your mum thought it was absolutely grand to say that.

Luckily for me, not many movie endings have been spoiled, but once my friend and I were talking about this film Identity that I'd never seen (it's basically a horror, murder kind of movie). All of a sudden he goes,
"And it was the child all along!"

The one that really pissed me off was when I was looking through Yahoo! Answers and found this question (bear in mind I had been looking forward to Spider-Man 3 for three years):
"Does anyone think that they shouldn't have killed Eddie Brock in the new Spidey movie?"

I was seriously livid after that one.

Was in the pub one night and someone was talking about The Departed and explained the ending. I didn't really mind cause I didn't think I was going to see it. A few weeks later my sister rented in, and of course the first thing that popped into my head was what happens in the end

Oddly enough, the Simpsons completely ruined Cape Fear for me too. I saw that episode loads of times but only saw Cape Fear recently and I almost knew everything that was going to happen.

My friend ruined the end of The Others on me and then denied that what he said was the big twist. So when I watched it I kept waiting for the second non-existant twist to happen.

    Damn you Podge.
