When to raise straight flush in PLO

    Live 1-1 PLO Omaha hand. Hero has TsJsQc5h in MP.

    Effective stacks are 400. Hero has everyone covered. SB and Button are exploitable players. SB sometimes falls in love with non-nut made and drawing hands. Button has made some very strange calls.

    Hand begins with someone making a standard raise to 5, maybe blind. 5 players see flop.

    Pot=25
    Flop is 7s8s9s.
    Checked around to button who bets 25.
    SB and hero call.

    Pot = 100
    Turn is a blank.
    SB bets 75!
    Hero calls.
    Button calls.

    Pot = 325
    River is a blank.
    SB checks.
    Hero bets 175.
    Button calls.
    SB calls.

    Where should I have bet or raised? I had planned to check raise the turn thinking that the button would bet, and I might get an extra bet from the SB who would be trapped in the middle. When the SB bet I changed plans, thinking I would let the Button either raise if he had the nut flush or more likely I would raise the river when the SB bet again.

    Felt like I had to bet the river in case SB had the bare ace and button wasn't willing to risk opening the betting.

    Still felt like I left some money on the table.

    Suggestions?

    Whenever you get a chance... :p

    Certainly jam the River, don't know enough about PLO to give more constructive advice unfortunately... it'd probably be wrong, but I can't see not Jamming the River, but getting called in 2 places on the River I can't see you having left much value out there...

    you have to pot bet the river, your guaranteed a call by the nut flush guy with that much in the middle.

    I think you should raise the flop

    1.Nut flush still plays
    2.if the board pairs on the turn it probably kills all action and you get no more
    3.if they call the flop raise and the board doesnt pair you have committed them to big pot
    4.deception of raise with the pure nuts

    Sir

    I bet the flop, it's crappy if it gets checked around and someone in earlier position to you misses their check raise with the A flush. Also if the turn pairs the board you get no action from the A flush, or some fish with the K flush.

    I think the river bet is fine, 175-200 is what I'd bet.

    I think you played it fine, but I would have bet more on the river, perhaps 225-250. I would also have led the turn if checked to me, but as played it was fine I think. I may have bet flop initially, but checking is ok too I think. If you raise turn or check raise flop as played then chances are that the only action you will get is if the A high flush is out there. I am amazed that you got 2 customers on the river.

    Then again I am pretty bad so maximising value isn't my strong point. The fact that I play it fairly similiarly means you have to work on your game :)

    I think best to bet the flop, you will surely stack the ace high flush but if the board pairs you may not stack a full house if it is not 9s full. The SBs turn play looks very like the ace high flush, calling the flop to try and get another customer and then leading the turn for value, so I would probably raise there too.

    i bet or raise the flop... u want to inflate the pot early here... u will get paid off either way by the nut flush in all likely hood,but if the board pairs on the tun it may scare him off or scare the other guy off..... try get as much miney in on the flop imo,if they are inexperienced they may pay u with less then the nut flush! as played i probably raise the turn....and if i dont do that i definatly pot the river.... you get one caller for sure, if you get two happy days!
