Realistically there are too many poker events already in ireland. My only hope is that this improves the quality of the big slick tournaments. I've nly played in a couple but have found them badly structured and under staffed. I only played a second one because i was forced to take a ticket when i cashed in a previous event. Needless to say the ticket bundling was not clearly advertised before hand.

really so no decent event from early june in the macau to the etp in late oct is to many. there is not enough poker events and what there is seem to get bunched together. The major operators should get there heads together and come up with a better spread on events.

having three in a row like happened in late may and then nearly 5 months without a €500+ buy in is just ridiculous.

As for your criticism of big slick I can only surmise your experience is based on a smaller event that had to be finished is a set time any event of significance that they have run has been top class on all fronts

    Why?

Do you actually mean there are too many, or do you mean they just aren't run at a high enough standard?

I only played in a 250 event and in a 500 hundred event and had the same problems in both. I dont know if there are bigger BS tournies then those. I just prefer casino tournies. They seem to be less rushed, have lower regs and better staffed(and yes i know there not enough of them). I've been playing poker for about five years and every year these hotel tour operaters change name but the problems remain!!

No way is there too many. There's nothing happening at all on the west coast. I can't get a decent game anywhere.

well the €500 event was without doubt the best structure tournament ever run in probably the world for such a buy in so I just cant understand your criticism of the operators on this front.

heres the feedback tread from after the event

Hey its just my opinion. These forums always seem to be a back slapping fest so I just wanted to give the other side. Friends of mine travelled to one of the smaller event(they matter too) and were told after the prize pool was being reduced to cover the cost of transporting the tables to the event, seriously! Congrats on your recent results by the way.

    So its quality, not quantity.

ty, I don't mean to come across as condescending and the bigslick lads are good friends of mine but honestly don't see where people can find criticism from that €500 event but as you said you most definitely are entitled to your opinion.

Sorry I forgot to reply last time. There seems to be a lot of small buy (less then 200 I guess?) tournies that are poorly structured and under staffed. I understand why the regs are higher then casinos and the latter stages are rushed because the organiser is on a time frame, I just dont like it. Fair enough there seems to be a lot of positive feed back from the 500 events but the standards should apply to all tournies run by the same company.

To be honest i should not even reply to a post like this as we do not have bad structured events and any time the game looks to get crapshooty i bring back the blinds ..In the space of two years we have gone from runnin $50 rebuy games self dealt to European Ranking events with 65 staff at the last Main event , Im sure the word Understaffed does not come into that ... If u had bothered hecking our structures for all our events i have taken advice from many poker players In Ireland to create Perfect Playing Structures ...

The only flaw we had with our events was when we tryed to do a€100 Freezeout tour same a Celtic Poker But fully dealt but this did not work out

But u say u played in the €500 This is where i noe laugh at u as a player Hour Clock 15k stack 3 day event and u say it was rushed , U definately were not at this event .....

Friends of mine travelled to one of the smaller event(they matter too) and were told after the prize pool was being reduced to cover the cost of transporting the tables to the event, seriously!

This is even worse , We Pay 100% of prizepool , We have often lost money running events but never have we changed a Prizepool to get €20 in petrol for our own van ....Lol .....

This Is Very strange post someone posts Five times on a site , We leave a sponsor and join a new one and in comes our first ever complaint ...But hey Good with the Bad

Hopefully u will be at another event to see the changes we have made to this company ,

I appreciate you having the decency to reply your self. I never form an opinion based on one event and my comments are'nt. They are fair reflection of what I(me, personally) experienced. I will try another B S event(please no more ticket bundling though). I will say that you re way ahead of the Celtic tour and some of the previous poker organisers in munster.

Thats no problem mate we have really changed everything in a year and a half and have had many pro players who are in the world series say this year we have run the best events they have ever played in , I will always take Critisism on board but i can assure u that structures are player Friendly , Ticket bundling i really dont know wat to say we only ever gave out a €200 event ticket to the winner each week in Tramore which was a €50 F/o with 20 min clock and a 10k Starting stack which was great value ...

I really hope u do see a change in our events as did our sponsors

Did u play with us before we moved to Boyle Sports ?????

If so we changed everthing and stepped it up from there

this is a contradiction because big slick have never given tickets to bigger entry tournaments at the 250 or 500 tournements that they have run so i question the basis of your post.....big slick do however give tickets at their weekly games to the super sats for the upcoming winter festival ...if its last summer you are posting about they gave tickets at their weekly games to the end of summer €200 freezeout but as posted earlier you have only played the €250 & €500 tournies.....

Redroar, are you totally sure you're not confusing Big-Slick-Poker with another tournament organiser? How can you be upset with a €500 tourney with a 1 hour clock and 15K starting stack?

You are completely and utterly out on your own here with your criticism, and this is your first contribution to the forum. Not only that but you haven't given any evidence of why the event you played in was poorly run. You need to do that before you'll get any respect here. If you can't then I suggest you creep back beneath the rock you came from.
