    I was mailed a document and in the text boxes when I highlight the text I cannot format it, the formatting options grey out and are unselectable. How can I 'unlock' this?

    Make sure the file isn't read only.

    it's not no.

    It's a questionnaire, and I can enter text in the boxes provided, but I cant change the format of the text from basic size 11 Times New Roman.

    Tools > Unprotect Document.
