Probably get more response in the "bands&musicians" forum.

Venues are cheap enough to rent here without any hassle, well alot of them are anyway, but generally you'd have to try and bring in your own crowd.

I reckon your best bet might be to send a demo to a load of venues and see what happens, either that or book a venue like Eamon Dorans and use the magic of myspace to publicise it with Irish people like crazah.

Eamon Dorans is on our list of venues we're gonna send demos too, we have found some people who are gonna help us up the north. Do you mainly hire places over there? or does it depend on the audience you can get in...?

There's a whole lot more work involved in "touring Ireland" than just posting on a Musician's messageboard.
I've gigged all over Ireland (nothing I'd call a "Tour") but I know fellas who've done an Irish tour and unless you can piggy back on some local bands and bum support slots then you'll be playing to nobody every night, that's if you even get the gigs in the first place.

If you're an internationally signed artist, which I assume you're not, you will be lucky to have it all fit into your schedule of your chosen week in October. It might sound like a good idea in theory, but there's far more to it than meets the eye.

    Good luck :)

Now that I think about it, you'd be better off sending demos to promoters. I'm not too up-to-date on who's around and who's decent, but the Radiator gig nights tend to be decent. Then there's the King Kong Klub thingie in Pravda. Contacting promoters is a much better way to go about things in your situation, at least you won't have to pay for the venue and hunt down local bands. Just, before you agree to anything, post the names of the promoters somewhere and get people's opinions... some of the promoters are absolute parasitic scum that should be avoided like the plague, so just be wary.

What kind of music do you play? Have you thought of a band swap? Find a similar style Irish band and take it from there.

Yeah we our sending out demos this week, then next week we're gonna contact the promoters. Our style is roughly said Post-Punk/Psychedelic. I have searched for similair bands on the internet, but so far i havn't found any bands in the New Wave kinda style. Would you know about any Irish bands?
