I was wondering if anyone wanted to go Killary Harbour at some stage in August?
    It's Ireland's only "Fjord".

Maybe see some more of Galway and Mayo while out there?

Probably just a day trip / maybe an over nighter some weekend in August?

Anyone like the sound of that?

It's in Connemara, starting at Leenane village, to be precise. If you have ever seen the movie "The Field", all of the village scenes are set in the area.

Won't be going myself, but I know the area like the back of my hand pretty much, so if you want any suggestions regarding where to go in the area, feel free to ask.

Great!! Thats just down the road! Have only recently moved to Galway, so that would be a great excuse to get out and explore the area ;)

I'm off to Norway on Wednesday to see a couple of the big ones ;)

Would be nice to see our version, when I get back. hehe.

Mercury, any suggestions welcome for places to see in that area.

OOo its lovely there. I did my open water in the dive school in a blizzard, but fabulous scenery. Bit of a drive for a day trip from Dublin though and I'm hectic in August already. Otherwise I'd have loved to go down.

Think the quiet man was filmed down that direction too?
