Dodgy power supply?

Hi, if anyone could answer this, I appreciate your response.
I built myself a new secondary system last night for running various Unix like operating systems(i.e for learning purposes) and as a new fileserver.
Everything is working as it should, but the PSU I think might be dodgy.
For instance, if I move the computer while it's running the system loses power and shuts down.
I checked all internal cables, and this leads me to believe the PSU might be dodgy.
Bear in mind I am using an ATX power supply with a VIA mini-itx board.
Maybe one of the voltage rails is borked?(doubt that would cause my problem though)
Should I bring this back to Maplin and demand a replacement/refund?
I don't want this cheapish PSU to take out the 3 hard drives in the system.
Or am I missing something else:confused:

    here is the PSU: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=98736&source=2001&doy=11m7

It sounds dodgy. Can't say I've ever hard of that brand name before. The system builders here seem to slam some brands and praise others. My own PSU is on the bad list.

Even if you get a replacement for it in Maplin at least you could rule out the current one. Ideally you would replace it for a more reputable model but I realise you're hardly overwhelmed by the number of PSUs available in the mini-ITX form factor.

Yeah, it is a dodgy brand I must say.
I think I will just get another Enermax like the one in my main system.
Unless it is something to do with the fact I am using an ATX supply with an itx board. maybe it isnt very stable with mini-itx boards? mind you the voltage rails might be the same.
The PSU states its 500W, LOL, maybe in a perfectly controlled environment at a very big stretch, and that must be the max output threshold.
I would rather go for a full ATX model, as the case is housing an itx board in an ATX case.

X-Power are absolute utter ****.....not worth a cent. They charge money based on the wattage but the rating on the 12v rails is so crap you couldn't support any half decent card....the only decent one (spec wise) is the one marked as sli and crossfire ready but thats sold for more then actual good names so why anyone would bother with it is beyond me.

As to your actual problem, eh, I don't know. But as long as you know about the quality...

I wouldn't be surprised if these pieces of crap were bundled with the cheap n nasty cases.
    Thanks for the opinions Lads.
This is the price I pay for "half price" PSU deals.
