Can someone do me a favour and measure how long a mid cap mag is for an AK, need to see if they will fit my tact vest (yes I know a strange request :D).

Why do you have differnt caliber mags? Are they for diffent guns?

    5.45 X39mm is for AK74, AKS74U, RPK74.

    7.62 X39mm is for AK47, AKM, RPK47.

In airsoft terms 5.45 mags will go into AK47 and AKM type recievers and should feed fine although it's a totally incorrect mag if you want realism. 7.62 mags won't fit in many AK74 AEG's like their RS counterparts. My VFC AK74 for example won't take any of my 7.62 style mags but my CYMA AK74's will as they're not built to as exacting standards as VFC, again 7.62 mags in AK74 series is incorrect.

I don't own any Kings Arms mags but STAR and MAG are both excellent. I've never had either misfeed on me once. The A.C.M. waffle mags on rsov are excellent too, I was expecting them to be all plastic but they have the metal base cap like the more expensive versions :) Also bare in mind that the STAR AK47 mids are plastic not metal, if you want metal 47 mags you're looking at about 18-20 dollars each unless you get a pack deal. If you don't mind the mags being plastic I'd say go with STAR. They are very, very durable. There's a video on YouTube from a couple of guys who dropped them off a building and drove a land rover over them and they still worked ;)

Not pushed on Metal or Plastic as the AK is mainly just a skirmishing AEG.

Looks like I'll put an order in for the Star ones this evening so. (BTW its to be used in a CYMA AK74, there should be no issues with this?)

STAR mags work no problem in CYMA 74's. There is a slight rattle of the mags in the magwell though because they're meant for the 47.
