    Wii Zapper.... hmmmmm.....
Seems like a gimmicky peripheral to be honest.

I hope Brawl makes it for a Christmas release in Europe.

Just watching the feed now with some guys in work. No europe release date for Brawl :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,304 ✭✭✭✭koneko

Don't count on it, if I had to guess I'd say March 2008 for Europe. I'm not joking, I think that's probably going to happen. Nintendo doesn't like Europe, remember?

    Bloody dreadful presentation so far.

How about not showing Phantom Hourglass? It's already out in Japan, we all know exactly what it looks like.

    Note to Nintendo:

If there's one thing you shouldn't brag about, it's your online service. Seriously.

I'm drowning in montages now. Show something good :(

Good to see that the sports games are finally getting online. Not that I'll play them. The only interesting thing so far has been the zapper...

... ohh, I typed too soon. Mario Kart Wii online! Schweet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,598 ✭✭✭joe316

WiiFit, methinks nintendo are pushing it a bit

    dsc_0988.jpg

the mat thingy didnt work tho :)

although the mat can measure full body movement, footy game? tony hawk?

I keep waiting for the punchline to this whole conference, but it doesn't seem to be coming.

That whole Wii Fit segment was just..where are you going Nintendo? This isn't for a gaming conference.

Any picture of the mario kart wheel?

Eh...are they accidentally playing music over Regi talking?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,285 ✭✭✭Smellyirishman

Shame. Only new game was Mario kart, not a single new IP mentioned and hardly any 3rd parties.

Nintendo will do a LOT of business with the Wii, they're gonna keep making money, but there are no proper flippin' games on it :(. I can see my mam, dad and sister getting into WiiFit, but they should have stuck with weight measurements if anything as BMI can be misleading.

Roll on Sony, expecting them to put up a good fight against MS.

I'm sorry? Can you explain to me how this is possible?

Ninty just bored the s**t out of me for the best part of an hour and a half. At least Microsoft were showing off some promising looking games and isn't that what we're all here for?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,479 ✭✭✭Stalfos

Agreed, Conference was very dull tbh. E3 doesn't seem to be as big this year at all for some reason. Ninty haven't showed me anything that i would go mad for. The Wiifit thing looked ok but not much to do with gaming at all. Only thing that will save it for me is a new SSBB trailer. :D

ok, i dont wanna argue with you. they were both pretty damn awful, but MS just stinked of "we ve got nothing new ourselves, so lets get all the 3rd party publishers to fill the time slot", like that game with the controllers which are a complete rip off of buzz. Ill give ya assinins creed looked good. this video summed it up. http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/video/the-worst-way-to-launch-a-console-ever-277067.php

there might as well have been thumble weed blowing in front of him...... and laughter from an invited audience says it all. it sounded like a board meeting, "its a billion dollar franchise" yeah for you and bill maybe.

I wanna be blown away like i was with wii and littlebigworld, at least ninny came 20% of the way there with the zapper for fps games. that seems cool and mario kart

meh E3 for everyone is a quiet thing this year.

I think Sony is the only company that *has* to impress at E3 because there have been far too many questions asked about exclusives for the console.

Microsoft did a fairly decent job I think, the machine is the most established of the three and the presentation delivered on proving that its a machine that is here to stay by showing the large amount of support it has. Microsoft doesnt need to reveal any new hardware or plans, honestly it has everything spot on and just now needs to encourage more people over to them by providing the games. The only matter they have to resolve in urgancy is the hardware failure rate, but they are well on the way of doing that.

On the whole Halo 3 console thing, its pretty much a non plus, its a special edition version of the 360 with halo themed controller and face plate...its not big deal and if you remember Peter Moore's previous attempt at announcing products and overdoing it (*cough* tattoo *cough*) I think it was better to announce something so minor with just a little mention at the end. Its like one of those special pokemon edition DS's you can buy in Japan.

Sony did good in having the Killzone 2 presentation before the microsoft one as it seems it has taken some wind out of the halo 3 trailer (though in my personal opinion the halo 3 trailer is better, but thats just me) and it has people excited for the full show tonight.

Nintendo, a bit meh, seems to me they are shooting all over the place with the Wii, add on after add on, games look quality but damn I thought the Wii control revealed last time was the *revolution* not all these add ons. It might have been the cheaper console but man that doesnt mean we need to cash out for all these controllers. But still Mario Kart online is a whoot from me.

What Nintendo needs now though is a show of strength from all the 3rd party developers showing off wii exclusives they are making, because no one can deny nintendo make great games, but the Wii needs to show that its popularity can be transformed into 3rd party support.

So they may have named off their support a bit at the presentation, but we need EA etc to step up and show that they are pushing the Wii as strongly as the other two if not stronger.

Interesting stat from the nintendo conference.... 60 games already out, 100 before end of year?

Show me the release list with those 100 games....

(edit.. heh... maybe with 3 a week on the VC :))

I'm a massive Nintendo fan. I had a stupid amount of games for the N64 and got the wii on release day with great expectations. I feel seriously let down. I'm fed up buying Nintendo consoles purely for Mario, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Zelda, Metroid etc..

Same here. Especially when I'm being made to wait an ENTIRE YEAR for Mario, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Metroid etc

    Awful presentation.

Its not just the presentation im talking about, its Nintendo in general. I want a games console, not a 'fun for all the family entertainment unit'. Wheres the GAMES?

I haven't played the wii in months, the amount of average to bad games on it is unbelievable. It still only has one 'must have game', Zelda, and even that doesn't use the controls very well. They are v.tacked on. I have yet to see a good use of the controllers, apart from maybe Resident Evil 4, but I haven't played it on wii yet.

Most consoles go through this when they first come out , i got an xbox 360 at launch and the game selection was very poor for months . Things will pick up eventually at least they (nintendo) take the time to make the games as good as they can , instead of rushing out crappy ones like most of the first wave of third party wii games.

I admit the nintendo conference has been the weakest of the 3 today. But the other two werent amazing either.

I am horrified to admit it but I want to see what EA pull out in theirs.

I'm always amazed at how quickly people forget this.

Also, i'm pretty sure we're getting Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and Phantom Hourglass all before Christmas, or at least according to some guy on eurogamers comments board.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts exactly. My Wii has being gathering dust since I completed Zelda and Barring Mario and Metroid there seems to be nothing of interest on the horzion. I sick of been told 'oh it will get better' cause in all honestly I don't see that it will. Hell even the Gamecube had a much better selection at the same stage in it's life.

Also the Wiimote is pile of crap for Zelda and detracts from the gameplay rather then enhancing it.

Where are the 3rd party RPG'S, or anything for that matter? Cause all I see atm are a load of party games and gimmicks.

    /me puts on flameproof suit

its because they have to translate pal into so many languages, japan = japanese, america = english, europe = how many languages? exactly. be happy were getting so many amazing games, instead of bitching about what you cant have.

Well then how come it takes them so long when companies EA, Ubisoft and Microsoft can get games out on near simultaneous release dates. No excuses.
