I was disassembling my M4, just to get a feel for the internals, I was taking really good care to put all the pieces aside where I knew they wouldn't go missing. Anyway, I was putting it back together, I had just put the motor back in the pistol grip, placed the small silver disc in place (see attachment), and was about to put the cover back on when something came loose. I turned my attention to it and when I looked back the silver disc was gone. I searched for it for about an hour, I don't know where it could have gone. I think the pixies must have got it, either them or those pesky gnomes.

Anyway, on to my point, what is this disc, what does it do, and where can I get a new one?

it stops the motor adjustment screw in the bottom of the grip plate from making contact with the motor spindle... which allows the motor height to be adjusted properly and also stop's the spindle being damaged

you could probably make a new one out of a small piece of scrap metal if you have any lying around? or just go to the hardware/b&q and browse around until if you find something suitable?

It might be IN your gearbox or stuck to the side of your motor (the motor has a magnet in it).

Hmm, feeling a bit stupid now. I had taken out the motor and looked inside the pistol grip, but hadn't even thought about it being stuck to the motor. Thanks guys.
