is prison break the best show on tv

i think prison break is right now the best show on tv , i think its better than the sopranos at the minute , the present series of fat tony,s crew is not as good as previous series if you ask me

i was a bit skeptical about a second series of prison break , i absolutely loved the 1st one , but series 2 has so far been in my opinion even better than the 1st one , the plot thickens and becomes more mult layered each week
i think the charecther of agent mahone is fascinating , plus we get to see more depth within each charechter , one thing i would say though is , the lead charechter of michael scofeld is probably the least interesting one , sure hes incredibly smart and the mastermind of everything that happens but hes not very human , dont get me wrong ,i think his charechter is well played by wentworth smith but i think his brother is a much more real person
anyway the show is an absolute thrilling ride from start to finish each week , last weeks double bill (not last night the 9th of july ) was quite possibley thee most exciting piece of television ive ever seen

i wait with anticipation each week to see what happens next and pity those people who have missed this show and instead watch the phenomonolly over rated and over hyped tedious borefest that is LOST
im sorry but i hate that show with a passion

in summary PRISON BREAK is a classic

    Its a very good show.
Battlestar Galactica and Prison Break are the 2 best in my opinion.

Have you not seen The Wire.
Prison break, while good,is only pop fluff compared to The Wire or Oz. Rescue Me is also much much better than Prison Break. Don't get me wrong-I like Prison Break.:D

i hate lost too.. used to watch prison break but they are dragging it out now i think.. as for the soprano's nothing comes close.. humour and violence the sopranos has it all.. your right lost is boring.. and p.b. is unrealistic.. heroes aint bad either..

Was just about to say the wire myself.

Given a choice I'd watch the wire over every other show on tv ever made

    battlestar galactica is for geeks
the wire ive never seen , i dont even know what chanell its on , oz , saw it maybe once oh and i dont really get the person who said prison break is over rated , prison break is what they call in movies a sleeper or surprise hit
it didnt get a big promotion , its wasnt hyped , LOST on the other hand was the most hyped and talked about show before it came out since , well since ever

It's far, far from the best thing on TV. It's enjoyable, yes, but the best thing on the box? No, just......no.

It's quite good and certainly entertaining but the best thing on TV?

    Eh no.

24, Sopranos, Battlestar Galactica are but a few shows a cut above it. I've heard good things about the Wire and Rescue Me as other posters have mentioned here.

I agree with you about the Lost comment though.

I dont watch much tv but this is one of my favourite programs. I think its harsh comparing it to Oz though. Different points of focus with the only the prison background really relevent.

The main reason I like it though is because I feel I get a good hour of tv out of it. With Lost a lot of episodes were hit and miss, you'd feel robbed some weeks. Prison Break always has a great end to each episode making you want the next episode right then.

PB is good alright, but not the best on TV, that title has to go to The Sopranos I think.
It's not fair to compare the two of course because they are two completley different shows.
PB is pure escapism, switch off your brain-type TV but The Sopranos is about things that happen in real life; substance addiction, marriage problems, depression etc. and it shows them in an extremely realistic and well represented way.
Also, The Sopranos has the advantage of being on HBO which means they are allowed to use swear words and extreme violence whereas PB being on FOX means they are not.
The first two seasons of any TV series are always the best, most shows start to drop in quality after that. The creators of PB also brilliantly changed the direction of the show in season 2 as they took the prisoners out of the prison and into the open.

Yeah, and now they are back where they started! I like prison break but I thought they could have wrapped it up with season 2. Hopefully they will have some interesting twists and surprises for the third season.

Eh, you might want to spoilerise this nialler:

I like the wire and the shield.I gave prison break a chance and as good as it is my personal tastes are more suited to the two I put down.

i agree with you that prison break is not in the same league as the sopranos , i made the point that i felt prison break was better than the present and last series of the sopranos which i feel is not as good as previous ones
the sopranos however is an all time great series , its almost shakespearean , tony soprano is possibly the greatest charechter study ever put on tv , well apart from homer simpson that is
i agree that prison break is pure escapism , popcorn entertainement but when you look at it for what it is , i think its fantastic , steven spielberg makes movies that are as good in thier own way as movies that francis ford coppolla or martin scorcessee makes , would you not agree
