Allocating bandwidth on a wireless network?

Is there any method available to evenly distribute bandwidth to each computer logged on to a home network?

One of the users on my network seems to rob all the bandwidth when they log on with P2P and torrent downloads.

The router is a Netopia 3347W.

    Thanks

There are tons of bandwidth monitor / limiters on the inet. If you want to stop torrents open your router config page, type 192.168.0.1 in a web browser and block the port number there. Google the port numbers of the p2p programs and block and watch the difference. Blaim the isp if anyone asks ;).

Use Monowall. its a free BSD program which you can run on an old pc between your uplink and computers.

You should have a option for this one the routers configuration page, mine router i can limit the usage per mac address and change the priority to low.

I have an option to enable MAC authorization alright (not using it at the moment), but i don't think i can do anything past that in so far as prioritize bandwidth to any particular MAC address.

Thanks for the above replies too - going to 192.168.0.1 doesnt seem to work or do anything, and i don't really have the option of putting a computer in front of the router, or installing programs on any of the other machines.

Not to worry. Cheers anyway fellas

You cant block P2P by blocking an outbound port (Even the default one of the P2P client).
Even Skype is able to bypass firewalls to go outside by using any opened port.
The only way to block is to use application signature, but you need some serious firewall here.
