    Hi there.

Just wondering if any of you have ever bought a camera or equipment off these guys

    http://myworld.ebay.ie/ebestdeal4u/

They seem to be competitive and have alot of stock based in the UK.

If you have purchased from them, how was delivery time? I have never bought anything off eBay and I am a little apprehensive.

    Thanks for reading.

haven't bought from them but having looked at their feedback they seem reliable.

make sure it's a uk version ur getting and not the american
and if your looking for a new 400d, make sure it's not a refurb model.

What's the diffreence between the USA & European versions?

The verbiage in that item description is all about the Rebel XTi - the name the 400D goes by in the USA (like ye didn't know...)

Either way, it's worth noting that Canon are running a £50 (€80) cashback offer on the 400D till August 31st - is this seller's advertised price before or after the cashback?

I've had a look at that link and all the 400D's, that I looked at, were refurbished. Personally, I'd steer clear!

That guy is based in the states not the UK. So factor in the customs charges and the useless us warranty before buying.

I'd always advise people to stay away from refurbished items. Better safe than sorry.

Looks like this ebayer sells all refurbished items.

thanks for all of your replies. i have a few questions however.

1 how do i know if an item is refurbished

2 can anyone recommend a site i would get a new one from?

I think eventhough the seller is registered in the states, the product i was looking at was coming from manchester. not sure if it was a rebel xti or a 400d.

    Thanks again.

Sellers are obliged to state if the product has been refurbished.
You'll often notice that they don't include the condition in the initial description, but hidden away in the body text, they'll mention it.

I bought my 400D from this UK based seller.

    Ok, one item for sale

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/CANON-REBEL-XTi-EOS-400D-CAMERA-LENS-4GB-6-BONUS-BLK_W0QQitemZ140136806965QQihZ004QQcategoryZ31388QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    Check the Warranty and Condition

This product is Canon Refurbished "A CLASS" to BRAND NEW Condition

    Read everything carefully.

    On ebay - http://myworld.ebay.ie/kea-photo

Never a problem, brilliant service and prices.

That emilyandlily price for 400D/Rebel XTi is great: €621.71!

And remember that €80 cashback promotion!

    That'd mean you'd have spent just €541.71 (plus £21.99 shipping (€30?)) for a 400D + 18-5mm + 2Gb CF card.

    That's pretty good.

City-exile, did you receive an EOS 400D or a Rebel XTi?

Kea-photo is even cheaper: €605 inc shipping (€525 after cashback), but no memory card.

Is the price advantage of buying from overseas worth it? What do you guys do for serviceing & repairs?

Conn's Cameras list the 400D + 18-55mm at €900! They do plug that you get free sensor cleaning for life and they give you a loan camera FOC while they have your camera.

Argos are selling the 400D for €770 with the 18-55mm (€690 after cashback) but again, what after-sales support are you going to get from Argos?

Is the after sales service & support you'd get from a local dealer worth paying the extra for?

    I got a 400D.
European plug on the charger, but the lead is easily replaced.
I also don't think I paid more than €620 in total.
There's a thread somewhere, in which I've given the exact figure.
I bid on the one I bought & got a great price.

They ship with UPS though, so be sure to request the tracking number, when they tell you that your order has been shipped.
