Calendar for time management?

I've been talking to a PC head, who tells me mouthwatering things about Outlook. Apparently you can drag an email to a date, so it's there as a reference for you when you go to the appointment set for that date, for instance.

Interested by this thought, I booted up iCal and Eudora to try to do the same, but no dice.

Is there a way of doing this, or is another calendar better for this than iCal?

(I also use a Palm; it would be nice to have something that could be on the Palm and the Mac.)

I don't think there's a way of doing this with Mail (which is probably the one you'd assume would work in this way) and iCal. I've been using Google Calendar for a while and it's generally reasonably smart when you try to add stuff to it. Probably not as smart as Outlook though.

Can MS Entourage do this, I wonder?

Yup!! Yet another app I have on my machine that I never use! I really shouldn't pollute my machine with it, but hey its handy to have these things sometimes.

I tried Google Calendar, and just copy-and-pasted the email in, but it was a wee bit kludgy compared with dragging it on. Still open to suggs. I don't *think* I have Entourage, though it may be lurking in the undergrowth.

You could try proprietory programs like Daylite. I think they're integrated with iCal and iMail to run office management/relationship management facilities.

I've been using Mozilla Sunbird for the last few months ... I like it better than Google Calendar, especially for the multiple calendar views and colour coding.

It's based on the iCal standard ... and supports Windoze clients too.

If you are keen on linking mail and calendar, you could also look at Lightning/Thunderbird.

check it out. linkeh -> http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/

Again, I have Entourage on my machine, but I'm yet to open it.
I might now that I was that mark/space Blackberry App I use to sync between my Mac and Blackberry.
