Just wondering if any of you will be going to Trim. I know there were plenty of Boardsters at Terenure but I was fully occupied so never got to walk around looking !

I dont expect to be so busy at Trim, the show is a bit more laid back too !

If there were enough of us going we could arrange to meet at a specific place at a specific time !

I'll be going.. purely spectator though unless I'm allowed to display my 06 focus?

Going as a spectator, Galway to Terenure and back @ 19mpg average in Merc has depleted funds somewhat:rolleyes:

Will try to make it, haven't felt like washing my car much lately because of all the rain, will do that and polish it if theres any dry weather at all.
Anyone got any details on the show?

Ugh, vintage and veteran, my 91 might be a bit new.

I was thinking about going but was put off by the "vintage and veteran" tag.

Whats thier attitude to classics? Will they put you in the general car park? Are there many classics there? Kind of in two minds about going, not really that bothered about seeing loads of proto-cars...

I plan to go and bring the 200T - now my daily driver again... dunno about showing it; depends which way I get waved in by the organisers on the day.

Would be on to meet some of you - MercMad, I was at Terenure and kicked the tyres of your car and had a right good look at the W107s, but didn't come over - like you say, you were busy (and I had a lad with me that just wanted to go back to the toy stalls).

I like Trim - laid back and anything goes, maybe too much to some extent. Still it has more appeal to me than just 'real' classics that have the dust blown off to attend a show.

MercMad, is the Mercedes club attending? I subscribed a few weeks ago.

im going.I thinmk you'll get a 91 in no prob as they are trying to raise charity cash rather than hold a concours competition.....well worth the trip

Yeah, I'd say it will get in ok, its just that I'm more interested in cars from the 70's onwards, hopefully theres some there. Vintage/Veteran suggests pre 1960 stuff.

Anyone who preregistered for this get anything back yet?

Do they still charge more for one person in a classic car than one person spectating?

................pity I missed you at Terenure, but it was like that all day !

Yes we will be having a stand at Trim, a slightly smaller one, you are welcome to park the 200T with us, indeed if any of you are bringing older Mercedes car just come over to us and park up ! There will be snack food available too compliments of the Club ! :D

The Trim Show is a large Show and there really is something for everyone, lots of cars well into the 70's. I'm not sure what their policy is, they probably dont want a whole lot of run of the mill modern stuff but I have seen newish Jags,Mercs,Cosworths lancias and the like parking on display !

I pre-registered but only got my cert this morning by post. I was about to phone up actually and along it came !

You can pay on the day obviously, not sure of the cost though !

Just found this picture on their site of my car taken in 2003 !

Don't get me wrong:mad: . I've no problem paying an entry fee to a show with the old car but why should I pay more than joe public?

merc is dead ugly but the rest of pic is quite acceptable.....

will cost me €60 plus for petrol, cant say it doesnt niggle to have to pay to get in in order that they have a show to charge people to see....many shows I go to actually feed you and some of them are charity do's of one sort or another (most of them thinking about it...)

I think it was a fiver a head for Joe Public last year. Got the impression that with an old car it's the car that's charged, not the occupants (hence mentioning 7 seater...).

Haven't booked yet - really waiting for weather forecast.

MercMad, might take up the offer, thanks... my old thing can't match some of the perfect dent-free, shiny stock that's in the Mercedes stall... but then mine is used every day.
...I used it to tow almost a ton of gravel out of a quarry couple of weeks ago.

If there is a meet - when and where? Back of the artic trailer of line dancers at 3pm?

OK laugh if you want, but i missed Terenure as I forgot about it :/ Got up, poodled about, knowing there was something I had to do then saw the grand prix on and settled down to watch that, not remembering Terenure until about 16:00 when i saw the pics threads :(

Anyway, which do you want to see at Trim...the '86 Toyota Supra or the '79 Porsche 924 ?

Personal choice is my Alfa 156 :) but other than that I would like to take the Toyota as it's a nicer car to drive down and definitely something to look at regardless of it's age or what you think about it :) even f you hate it, you will still look. :)

    toyota...

    Porsche...

If you're selling the Porsche, bring that and put the "For Sale" sign in the window at the show. Should be a few potential buyers in the crowd.

........there were a lot of nice Mercs there, but most are babied. Still there are a good many of them used daily also, and you would have noticed the bodywork on mine is far from dent/rust free. It was supposed to have been done before Terenure but I gave my slot at the bodyshop away to a friend who crashed his daily driver !

Anyway a 3pm meet up sounds good !
