I mentioned it earlier in the BB sticky... I have never had this problem until tonight....

I've been getting constantly disconnected tonight... and i mean constantly... about 10-15 times actually disconnected to the point where i had to log in again... and then there was some times when i bet the flop and the screen would freeze and i would eventually reappear in the middle of the next hand not knowing what happened on the turn or river... there would be nothing in the history...

worst one was I got it all in with AcKc on an AK flop and it froze.... I returned in the middle of the next hand hand have no idea what happened only i now am sitting out with no money....

Support told me it was an ISP issue and i should contact them... so i did and they tell me all is well??? anyone else with this problem.... If it's something on my end i'd like to know so i can fix it.

    Mac

Request the port numbers from whichever iPoker site you are using. Then provide these to the ISP advising you are having serious issues connecting to them and you need it resolved as it is costing you money. They should be able to resolve the issue at that stage imo

Macs, which ISP are you using, what package do you have from them and how are you physically connecting your laptop/machine to this line?

If the port numbers were closed off to him, he would never get a connection at all, rather than an intermediate connection.

I'm guessing that you're using some sort of Wireless adapter to connect to the internet. Unfortunately the side effect of using wireless is that it is prone to interference and generally just dropping packets of data when you least want them to! You could try moving your wireless router/modem closer to laptop/PC in order to enhance the signal and prevent data loss.

Wireless routers do have problems with poker clients (all networks) because of the number and type of connections they make per minute. I recommend not using one (though I do... and I wish I didnt tbh).

this happens all the time for me to, I'm not on wireless. I'm on NTL 3MB line, sometimes its ok and you get hours. Then sometimes you disconnect every 5-10 min, and as OP said when you have a great hand it p!sses you off so much,

Is I-Poker aware of this problem ? is it only Irish players effected?

    Peeko your screwed my friend.

My ipoker account has been doing that 'you are already logged in' and 'that username is already in use' crap for the past 4 or 5 months.

Support don't care or don't know how to repair it. You'll never get your money back and they will never contact you.

If I had one big clind for everytime I have been told that "I will pass this to our IT 'people' (by people I think they mean a cocker spaniel they have tied to a machine somewhere - would be more useful). There si also my personal favourite, "I will have one of our Poker Executives (oooohhhh) call you.

After weeks of sitting on the edge of my seat in excitment and checking my voice messages every 20 minutes I have come to the sad conclusion they must keep dialling my number in wrong.

I'm with eircom on their home plus package 2mb down 256 up I think.. I'm using the wireless router supplied by eircom.... I've never had this problem before so don't think it's my system?

BTW all is well today..... seems to be only at peak times.

Happened to me a small bit earlier on while datamining 8 tables all seems fine now, i think the key is to have no other internet based apps on at the same time, ie p2p or instant messengers.
I'm connected via wireless as well and ive never had connection problems on any other network other then world poker exchange.

I'm using the Irish Broadband 3Meg package with a sweex wireless router. My speed is very good in general because my house is only a couple of hundred yards from the transmitter.

I can't say I've had bad connection problems but I do have this odd freeze problem every few minutes on iPoker where all 4 tables stop for a few seconds. I think it's only ever lagged long enough for me to be forced to muck my hand once though so its not a problem. I have the same problem with Full Tilt and I can't play on Mansion any more because their software has much worse freeze-up problems. I agree with Dev, I think the problem is caused by bottle-necking at the router.

i am on paddy power tonite and my god is this software really screwing me up

IM on 4meg BB not wireless anything and the tables just keep freezing the action even though the clock counts down. it doesnt seem to be software freeze up. after i finish up this MTT and STT, i think ill never bother with i-poker again.

I didn't get any reply from support, but when I logged on this morning all the money was there again, and so far so good with connection.
