I have always wanted to study animal care or veterinary nursing but i cant do it anywhere in galway. And im not in a position to travel. The veterinary courses offered by AIT and UCD are both part time. Ucd its bock release for 3 years and AIT its evening classes 2 nights a week for 3 years. Why cant galway have a similar course? Im interested in doing either of those courses but i just dont know when. If it was in galway i would do it now. I cant believe in this day and age there's no courses for animal lovers in galway. There's a few plc colleges in the country that also offer a few courses but i cant travel. Nothing in galway. Would they ever consider bringing something in?. There's courses for alot of things in galway but not animal care. Its so unfair. Im sure there's more people in the same position as i am. :(

it's not within the focus of the college, Ucd have ag science and vetinary so i'm guessing that's why they run theirs, we have neither faculty.
also to create a faculty from scratch would be ridiculously expensive.

Why? NUIG are leaders in bio so why not extend the strategic focus? A well capable university in the center of a bio-medical hub, why not?

A college cant just decide to branch out just like that. according to the uni's website here's some of what they plan on developing in the next few years.
law, maths, clinical science, engineering. etc.

it's a harsh reality but not every college can have every subject, if that was the case i wouldnt have had to leave sligo
