    Check out the site - the biggest has 8 million members, over a billion posts. It's quality though, not quantity :)

    If you have a look at some of the [noparse]member:posts[/noparse] ratios, you can get a feel for the amount of spamming and "LOLZ" you'd have to wade through. SA has less members than boards.ie, but over 50 million posts, for example. In its defence though, it's been around longer and appeals to a wider (and more stable) userbase. Having to pay money to get in means that people are more likely to stay and use it.

    It is fair to say a large percentage of the posters are Americans under the age of 25 but there are several places on the forums for varying types of discussion general or extended or making them eat crow.
