Hi, Just wondering if anything more than a new clutch is needed: 98 Punto, with what seems to be a fecked clutch baring. When pressing the clutch it has a old-hinge feel and sound to it, also in wicked stop-start traffic on the weekend, a wild squecking noise from it. New car? Second hand clutch? Cheers

Not sure about a Punto (cable? hydraulic?)- but could it possibly be that the clutch cable is on it's way out? I'd check the cable before condemning other components.

Yep I would agree. Change the cable first, its simple enough !
