    Here is the joke:

I visit my GP today (Dr Kennedy in Donegal Town) for skin problem.
He said I have to see dermatologiest. The waiting time is 7 month

    Hahaha 7 month?

I just hope your skin lesion doesn't leave you with psychological scars, coz it's up to 18months to see a shrink ;)

    No

The real joke is the fact that the government would have us believe that public satisfaction with the health service is at an all time high.

    Although perhaps they mean "relatively".

PErhaps they mean that someone like you is thinking, "yes 7 months is much better, better than 2 years", which is what it probably used to be!

Although 7 months is still a joke.

Ah well we can all rest safely knowing that Minister H is still at the helm privatising the health service for another 5 years.

    :(

You'd think that after 7 months waiting you'd get the time needed to do the job properly. But it'll just be a rash decision.

    /gets coat [exit stage left]

Seriously at times it seems that waiting lists are so long that it filters out all the short term problems and those who can live with the problem and the small percentage who die of natural causes / emigrate.

7 months is actually very good for a dermatologist, most in dublin are up to 2 years still.

It REALLY sucks.... go private to Altnagelvin in Derry. Great hospital and great doctors.

I was referred to a dermatologist by my GP, both in Dublin. Only had to wait 2 months. Thankfully it was only a small cosmetic thing, nothing serious. Still, there wasn't much she could do for me, but I was still charged €200 for a 10 minute chat!

Heard it can be up to 3 years to see a rheumatologist in some areas and neurology and neurosurgery also ave seriously long waiting times: absolutely ridiculous.
