Either the sweetest Fender amp I could afford or go down the Mesa route. Torn between so many styles though so I just use modelling effects  through my trusty Marshall!

Probably an ENGL Fireball, or possibly a Powerball

A Splawn Hot Rod, or a VHT Pitbull, or maybe a Bogner of some description. Mesa/Boogie Stiletto Ace would go down nicely too.

I'd need a lot more than a grand for any of those though :(

I've already got what I want in that price-range. ;)

    what amp do you have?

i wouls be temped to buy a vox ac 30

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 71 ✭✭jamie_jj69

i got a line 6 spider II at the min. has 2 12" celestion speakers. hate the amp. i know it has all the simulation amps on it.. but its just far too digital for me.

dont want a stack or anythin, have seriously been think bout a vox ac30 myself, checkin out reviews, but there seems to be a lot of issues regarding tubes being sh1t and reliability problems. It's gonna be my 1st all tube amp so i'm not even too sure about what tubes are best to buy as replacements. Is the replacement hard to carry out? and how many tubes are even in there, also how much do they cost each?

its all new to me. but i'm basically lookin at either the vox ac30 or maybe a fender hot rod delux 112 or fender hot rod deville 212.

If anyone has any other recommendations, feel free to list the pros and cons.

go fender tube amp all the way.

Vox ac30 is overkill unless you're gigging. That sweet AC30 tone is achieved by cranking the amp

For guitar I'd probably try find an old Fender Vibro Champ. :)

Stick a power attenuator on it & you're good to go! :D

Personally I'd keep saving and buy a Diezel VH4

Good luck trying to get one for €1000.

If you do happen to find one for that price, let me know, and I'll buy it. ;)

Actually, speaking of Boogies, i've just been reading the reviews section of the website, and if I had to spend a grand on an amp, it would be one of their new Express 5:25 combos.

Tiny (cute) little 10" combos with more features & tone than your average 'big' amp - 2 channels, multiple voices, switchable countour & reverb on each channel, low power (5 watt) mode. Brill :D

Obviously, it's way over e1000 if you were to buy here, but I think i might just be able to keep under the budget with some eagle-eyed ebay-ing.
