Media Centre remote not working

    hi folks, basically have Windows XP Media Centre. Bought the remote control for media centre on net. No driver supplied, downloaded a few drivers but cant get it working,

    Does anybody have a link for drivers or suggestions??

    any help appreciated??:)

    Is this for a pc or laptop? if its for the pc you will need a Infra red card to pick up the remote controll. Or is it the bluetooth model? IF so turn on bluetooth.

    I just plugged mine in and Windows found the drivers automatically :confused:

    Do a complete online update of the OS. The one I had wouldn't work until I had the OS completely up to date.

    EDIT: You need the tranceiver plugged in and facing the remote, but i'm assuming this is a no brainer and you've already done this.

    OP, did you get the little black receiver thingy with your remote?

    i went into my device manager and lowered a communication rate on the infrared devices and hey presto.....lazytown here I come
    :D
