    hey guys,
just wondering if anyone mounts their pictures this way and if it is possible to do at home.

when i google, it comes up with tonnes of companies that do it for you. do you need special printers to print onto the canvas or does it work as well using the iron on photopaper?

    www.photobox.com

You can also buy inkjet canvas in some art shops... but you'll still have to mount it onto wood.

mounting on to wood is no problem, it's the printing is the issue.

has anyone tried the cheapo iron on version?? :D what are the results like?

just had a quick look on the photobox website, can't seem to see where they sell the canvas itself... just looks like the other sites offering to do the printing for you.

Oh, sorry, I thought you wanted someone to do it for you.

If you get the inkjet canvas, then you'll just need an inkjet printer that can handle thickr paper. Haven't tried the iron on method though.

A few years back we used to print onto newsprint & use lens cleaning solution rubbed on the back to transfer images.

I wouldn't be too positive about the quality you'd be likely to achieve, from a DIY method. Canvas is very porus not easy to print on.
At best, you'd get clumps of ink, on your image.
You could end up breaking your printer nozzles though.

You need to discuss this with printer manufacturers/suppliers.
