    They're not very inspiring.
The 5th one is just some gravel & a field!?
Were they taken on your phone?
None of the subjects are very interesting.

they were taken on a cheap compact as I said.. and the 5th one is just that, I just found it interesting with the rice fields and the contrasting colours, meh, I guess thats just me, Im just starting out in photography, well, ive been taking the family photos, the usual, for years, but I want to get into proper photography, These werent just random snaps I was trying to photograph things I thought would make nice photographs but I guess I was wrong. Anyway, Cant blame a guy for trying, I guess I have a lot to learn

Well one thing we all have is an opinion.
Don't let mine put you off!

    Are landscapes your favourite subject?
I find it helps when you're interested in what you're shooting.

Look on the Interweb for works by others, on the subjects that interest you.
Try to learn from that and then apply your own style.

If you're really serious about this, you might want to invest in a better camera.

If it's advice you're after, there are loads of people on here, only too willing to help.

    P.

id say you've the right idea, just need some gear, i started on a fuji q1, tiny, but did the job, im still only starting as such, but anyway, i quite like your subjects, example, i've a pic of a sign saying strong currents,(yellow), with a no fishing(red), and its all buried in green growth, i love it.. no1 else does :P

2&3 are my favourites, very nice!! but need a better cam!!!

Thanks! Im glad im not the only one that thought they were some bit nice, yeah, I actually found it painful shooting with that cheap cam but I had no time to buy a decent camera before going to spain (I had been working up to the day before and only just had enough cash)

I'd advise you to keep looking through photos you like and see what works. Where people put items in the frame, and why you think they do. Most photography magazines have "Top Tn Tips that will make you a Better Landscape Photographer" written on them. Pick one of those up.

Have a look at the golden rule & the rule of thirds...it'll seem pretty boring until you pick up your camera again and go "hmmm, if I compose it like this..." and it'll all make sense. You might aswell keep shooting with the P&S until you get anything else anyways... :)
