    See: www.dresscode.ie

Anyone have any experience with them? I'm looking for a price range, website says they've launched in Arnotts but there was no sign of them there last Tuesday.

Any comments would be appreciated, its Debs dress time. \o/

No, no! They're so plain and typical-debs, and tend to be €400! PFFT.

Yup. €33 that was, shipped from China as well. The dress I want for this year's debs is €81, but the fecking site is updating so I can't buy it yet...

That's quite the bargain alright but I don't think many girls could get away with wearing something like that!

Ha. This is the dress I want to wear to this year's http://alldresses.com/store/item/D5159A, but there's no optio to buy the fecking thing.

Yeah that's nice too. I don't know how I ended up here talking about dresses:p

Anyway, try register first on that site and then you might see an option to buy once you are logged in?

Tried that. They're renovating it, so they've disabled the buying function.

    Oh well, good luck anyway:)

I see every google ad on their site is advertising other dress sites. Can't be the best idea for business.

This is a long shot I know, but here it goes!

I absolutely fell in love with this dress ( http://dresscode.ie/collections7.htm ) from Dresscode last year. As I'm living in Cork, I had planned to travel up to Dublin and get the dress for my debs (2008) during my school holidays. I was told on the phone that they didn't have the dress in my size, but they did have the longer version which they would be willing to shorten if it fit. So the plan was to go up last October, however my mom fell ill with cancer and obviously the dress was now the last thing on my mind. Thankfully my mom has recovered and here I am looking for a debs dress again. Unfortunately the dress isn't available in the colour I wanted (green) any more and I'm gutted!

Is there anyone who might have gotten this dress last year and would be willing to sell it? Or does anyone know anybody who may have it? I'd be looking for a size 8 or 10, depending.

If anyone can help I'd really really appreciate it! Thanks!

I did buy a beautiful satin gown from dresscode in arnotts in the christmas sales.
I found it gorgeous, tis a pity the website ain't working, I'd say they're that bit cheaper online.

Sorry to hear about your mother; I'm glad she's okay now. About the dress, it probably is a long shot, but you should get in touch with Arnotts - go there in person if possible - and ask in more detail about the dress. They have a record of everyone that's ever bought any of the Dresscode dresses there, as well as their school (to prevent two girls turning up in the same dress), so there's a chance one of them was brought back at some stage, and if so, it'll probably be recorded there. You never know, you might just be lucky. As long as you get a nice helpful member of staff. Go to the Dresscode section specifically, and ask them there.

Otherwise, try contacting BTs in Limerick and Galway - Dresscode is going to be launched there this month I believe, so they may get some older stock, or repeat stuff from last season. It's worth a try. You could also check eBay on the off-chance.

As a last resort, you could get a similar dress made, if you bring the photo to a bridal shop/dressmaker or similar. I got my dress made for my debs (I had to, I'm a funny shape!) and it cost me about 280 quid altogether, including material. That was about 5 years ago, and this was in Co. Wexford, so you'll probably pay more in Cork, but t's a last resort. Good luck in your search.

Thanks for your help! I'm planning to get a dress made as much like it as possible, but thought I would chance my arm here first. I did contact Arnotts a few weeks ago but they didn't seem to know a lot about it except that they don't have it in green any more. I contacted Dresscode also but they were unable to help me get the green dress either. I think my best bet is probably to get one made, but if anyone does know anyone who might have it and be willing to part with it, please do let me know! Can't find it on ebay!

Thanks again for your help. It's very much appreciated.

You're welcome. I know how it feels when you find something you just have to have! Good luck. :)
