Does anyone remember the spotting area at the end of runway 24 in Shannon .... all part of a good few hundred yards of perimeter fence that was freely accessable by road untill just a few years ago .... :(

I still have a few photo's taken at that spot inc. the Alpha Fox Concorde ......

    another example ......

The short stretch of road at Aerospace (which finishes at the new mini spotting area) was the original road to the large viewing area that was lost ..... it could easily have remained open with overhead height restriction barriers etc ...... :(

I know its a pity as the "new" spotting area basically sucks.

ah! Did they actually have an Irish division?! never knew that!
