hi everyone, just wondering is the following common practice?

we came back yesterday from a wonderful holiday in the Dominican Republic. all was going well changed flights yesterday morning in Paris CDG with 45 minutes between flights, we got on our flight arrived in Dublin and waited for our baggage, anyway half an hour later baggage appears but ours and everyone else's who was on a transfer flight to the Dublin one never appeared. nobody told us what was going on, so after asking at the desk we were told that our bags didn't have time to be put on the transfer flight. they would be sent out to us in the next couple of days.
is this a done thing normally just to let the other flight go? it's always a 45 minute gap between these flights so surely this can't happen everyday can it?

A lot of baggage doesn't make it through CDG if there is a tight connection.

Fairly standard practice. Would you want a whole flight full of people to be delayed because 1 persons bag of smelly underwear couldn't make it on board?

Secondly Air France are fairly bad at the moment for baggage, CDG is a bit of a bermuda triangle for luggage.

thought as much to be honest, must cost them a fair bit though delivering it throughout Ireland, there was people from cork, meath, carlow etc etc with no bags through yesterday
