    hey lads,

Has anyone ever used http://www.carcheck.ie? They seem to provide the same service as the AA. As in they check out the condition of the car and give you a report on it, but they are way cheaper. They only charge €150 for a background check and mechanical check!! The AA is about €336.

    Completely different outfits.

I've never used carcheck but have read good reports here about their services.

I started a thread about this site the other ady and it's gone now...

They say they do odometer reports, but then the report details don't have a mileage check...

Yeah it's really stupid that they do not try and get the mileage up when that's what people are very interested in... and can help to know if the car has been tampered with.

I used them in March i think, absolutely fantastic service. Although im a member of AA and got the motor insurance with them, over 300 yoyos was a bit too much! I rang the guy early in the morning and at 6pm i had the full report ready! Just to mention, he came from Limerick to do it. They used to cover just Munster area but now the cover whole Ireland.
    Would def recommend them!

The guy that used to be carcheck dot ie is now http://www.carcheckireland.com/default.php. He is a guy based in Limerick. It costs 150Euro. You get a full run down. He is pretty excellent when it comes to routing out con-men. USed to do assessments for insurance companies I think. Very quick to arrange check. Very quick to report back. He phones you after the check, then sends a hard copy.
He saved me a fortune as i nearly bought a clocked and previously crashed 2003 audi a4 1.9L TDi from what seems to be a legitimate con man.
