any bike shops should have suppliers that have budget ones.

I am looking at buying either a harris stand or more likely an Abba Superbike stand.

The abba is a bit more but it suspends the bike through the swingarm pivot like a centrestand so you can work on the front and rear of the bike with no loading on the suspension (ie you can change the suspension if you want) which is something you can't do with a paddock stand.

I don't know exactly. A friend bought a similar stand (non abba) and had it posted here. I can try to get the details for you.

Well I went ahead and ordered a superbike stand, and swingarm removal kit from ABBA. Couldn't be arsed messing about breaking my back. I'll strip the sh!te out of this TDM when I get it up on this stand! :D

It's £24 postage to Dublin for the stand and fitting kit.

    Sweet!

I am going to order one myself. The one I borrowed is missing the 8mm allen key and I had none (surprisingly because I could swear I had one in my tool box  ) so I couldn't change my fork oil.

Aah well, there is a project for during the week.

Hope it is successful for you.

Cheers. Rang them Monday morning and stand arrived today! That's good and fast. I don't think £24 is unreasonable for a big awkward lump of metal like that. Looking forward to using it this weekend.....

Just to add, set the bike up on this stand this afternoon and it works a treat. I would recommend anyone to buy the swing arm removal kit at the same time as it should work on ANY bike simply by changing two bolts (if you even need to, most marques at least probably use the same thread/pitch of bolt) and the end result is extremely stable and will allow me to drop the swingarm if I decide to (I heard the TDM can suffer from bushings going at the linkage so might renew em anyway). I just used 3 x 4" concrete blocks with some wooden blocks under the crankcase to pitch the bike up so the front wheel is well clear of the ground. Should make changing fork seals a LOT easier.

I used my (borrowed) one too yesterday to replace the fork oil. Worked a treat so I will be sending an order over to ABBA this week me reckons.

lol, yeah! the hammerS are just out of shot!

The stand is the right job though. Rock solid. Did you order the swingarm removal kit too?

Well the kit is in use in those pics but I've not touched the rear swingarm yet. I think the kit is worth the money and provides a more stable support.
