Hi there Jay, the band I work with played the Mitchelstown festival last year and I can confirm it is indeed free.
Its also well run, not one of these concerts off the back of a truck.
Proper stage, PA, and engineering team.
It takes place in the town square, which is a massive open space which slops down.
The stage is at the bottom so it works really well.
    Enjoy. :D

Cheers, didn't realise it was on August bank holiday weekend, I'll be out of the country then. I'll check it up for the future :)

It's an amazing line up considering the whole thing is free - director, delerentos, republic of loose, sultans of ping, stone roses experience, the aftermath, hooray for humans etc etc - all decent live acts.

Perish The Thought (formely Spunn) are opening the night time slot on Saturday at 8pm, well worth checking out if you like straight up heavy music.
