Finding old games, machines

Evening. Perhaps this is the wrong forum, if so, riode this bleedin' bag of dirt to hell ala bin it.

I was just wondering if there's anywhere around Ireland, specifically Dublin, where you can still buy old games and machines. I know there's Game Xchange on Talbot street where you can get Sega Dreamcast, Saturn, Mega-Drive and Nintendo Gamecube, N64 and SNES stuff.

Does anybody know anywhere else? And yes, i do know i can get it on Ebay, and probably cheaper, but the ole credit card...not too healthy last legs sort of thing.

    Thanks

The only other place you can check are car boot sales. One of the forum regulars got some great retro stuff at the balbriggan sunday market recently.

Its all a bit hit and miss, car boot sales at markets are great because the folk selling aren't really interested in the stuff they sell, so you can pick some real gems for little money, plenty of Sega stuff out there, some atari and the occasional N64 or Snes. There are loads of PS machines but none likely to work and no way of testing.
I always seem to come away with something when I go to Balbriggan, there is a guy there selling dodgy PS2 and GBA stuff!
The fella in Fairyhouse selling games is expensive but if he has that Vrally and you need it, ya big fool, pay him.
Aside from that nowhere springs to mind, GameExchange is pricy but at least you get a warranty of some description, although their selection is variable, usually stuff from 2 gens ago, so lots of DC and PS stuff, less and less 16bit, 3DO or Saturn stuff, actually I think I bought most of that!

I just got my hands on a Sega Mega Drive, mint condition, with Sonic, Terminator and the 3-in-1 game pak [Shinobi, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe] plus a Game Gear in mint condition with box and Sonic 2, which im very happy about.

Whats this thing in Balbriggan all about? I'll be in Dublin tomorrow, probably visit Game Exchange while im at it. Are you better off finding someone to buy your stuff on Ebay or trading with these guys though?

Adverts.ie is possibly the best place to sell retro stuff, at least everyone knows what things are worth, plus shops usually screw you.

The Balbriggan thing is a Sunday market, go early and in good weather and you never know what you'll pick up, just never buy a used CD/DVD based console, too many drops or rough handling and the drive is probably knackered.
Best to stick to the cart based machines, the CD/DVD based games on the other hand are fine, just check for scratches, I got Jag XJ220 and Keio Flying Squadron for my MegaCD for a fiver plus a bunch of books.
