Does anyone know this car? I'll scan some pics in next week.
It's a 77 yellow cal look bug. It was sold to someone in Bray (we think) a few years ago. If you've seen it you'd remember because it was a very bright shade of yellow
I'm looking to buy it so if anyone has any idea as to where it might be I'd appreciate it. I've been chasing it for a few yrs now. I've spoken to the current registered owner and he said he sold it a few yrs ago but the new owner hasn't registered it :(
    Cheers
    Cathal

    Hi Cathal
When you mentioned the details of the car, it immediately made me think of the bright yellow Beetle that my friend in Bray bought about a year and a half ago. It was a mid seventies callook Bright Yellow bug... I shot a few pictures of the car when I was photographing his Porsche 911 Targa, because it happened to be parked right next to it, but when I checked the reg, it was a UK reg number, so it doesnt seem to be the same car. However, have a look at it anyway, you never now it might still be the same car. It;s in the background....

The yellow beetle has unfortunately come to a sad end, as it was well and truly rotten, and I mean rotten, even though it looked quite allright, you could look through the floors and there was rust everywhere you poked your fingers... it has been stripped completely bare, and there's only a battered shell left.

Cheers for that but the yellow car in your pics is a 1303 and the car i'm looking for is a 1200 body.
    Nice Porsche though!

    Hey Cathal,
i work in Bray and im pretty sure i know where those pics were taken. I haven't seen the VW around, like you say it would be a fairly easy one to spot. I'll keep my eyes open and let you know if i see the Bug

Does the www.cartell.ie 3 star report give the current owners name and address? Probobly not

I got a friend to check who the current owner is and I have spoken to him but he sold it a few yrs ago so all of the records are showing him as the new owner even though he sold it. He thinks he gave them the tax book as opposed to sending it into the tax office so whoever bought it never registered it

Strange that. Then it must not be in use at all.

No, I wouldn't say so. The listed owner said that when he sold it the engine needed work so maybe it's still sitting in a garage somewhere waiting for an engine!
