Im not sure if this is the best place to ask this as im only new to this forum, however I have recently graduated from college and I am seeking a programming job. I would like to work with php and in web development but I've also got experience with C++, Java and VB. I was wondering where would be the best places to look for jobs in this area?

Probably best to post this in the Work & Jobs forum as there are probably more people there that could help you.

It's the same as every other career, post your CV on as many job sites as you can. Post different CVs under different titles targeting different jobs, format your CV in respect to these jobs.

Get touch with agencies try get an open line of communication with one person from each agency. It’s better than having to answer the same questions to different people from one agency.

Get in touch with you college career adviser if they have one. They might have a list of companies/contacts that have previously hired graduates. They can also give you good advice about your CV.

Be patient it can take time, and remember you are only starting your career so be prepared to start at the bottom, or on lower pay than you might expect if you think it is the right job.

    Good luck...

I'll just copy this over to the work and jobs forum. We have rules on the programming forum about recruitment, not a problem its just a reason to move the post.

Google have graduate positions on their API support team. Dunno if that what you're looking for but they give you 200 quid towards a new bicycle!!!

Try the banks too, they usually have graduate programs. Now banking may not be where you dreamed of working but we've all gotta work somewhere.

Thanks for the info. I have already worked in the banking sector developing VB applications and other work with Java, XML & XLST. Really enjoyed it and would be more than happy to work there again.

VB.net/2005 or Classic Vb? If the latter go for Java roles*

*I sooo couldn't say that on the Programming forum.
