1 all. Not the best game ever but was worth the drive.
    Cork City 1-1 Hammarby
Cork City face an uphill task next week in Stockholm, as they failed to prevent Hammmarby scoring an away goal, drawing 1-1 with the Swedish outfit. Damien Richardson gave home debuts to Gareth Farrelly and Colin Healy in midfield, with Leon McSweeney having to do with a place on the bench for the returning Roy O'Donovan.

City got off to an electric start in this second round, first leg tie. Man of the Match Colin Healy played a vital part in the opening goal, coming on 9 minutes. The Ballincollig native raced through the Hammarby defense, skipping past 4 players with relative ease, and putting in a dangerous cross with his left foot. Goalkeeper Hellstrom struggled to push the ball away, and Roy O'Donovan was on hand to tap the ball into the net from 12 yards. O'Donovan came close again midway through the first half, shooting narrowly wide from the corner of the box.

Hammarby showed that they were a danger after a half an hour when they almost equalised. Chanko played a through ball to Paulinho but his effort was deflected out for a corner, when a goal looked a certainty. The leveller did come just before the hour mark. Colin Healy picked up a yellow card for a foul 30 yards from goal. Chanko whipped in the cross and Paulinho headed towards goal. Healy's attempted header to clear ended up in his own net, and Hammarby picked up the crucial away goal they sought for. The away side seemed content on the 1-1 scoreline, as City tried to push on for a winner but to no avail.
