    Hey all,

I got a new laptop during the week.

Whats the best way to move my entire itunes library from the old laptop onto the new one?

Music is in two different folders on the D: of my old laptop. I want to have all the files in one directory on the C: drive of the new laptop.

    Any ideas??

Really depends on how big your music collection is? If its massive, an external hard drive might be the best way to go, if you don't have one and don't want to splash out, someone you know might be able to help you out.
Also, I assume you're moving the files. You can just create a new library on your new machine as you'll have to do this if you're moving around files and changing folders anyway by importing the files from their new location.
    Hope that helps.

I have transferred all the files onto an external HDD.

I was going to copy the itunes XML file and change the location of the files using notepad. This way I could keep all the names of artists and stuff because I spent ages getting them right!!

Is this a very complicated way of doing things?

I thought the names of artists and stuff was saved with the music file not just on the iTunes file?
